    Job description

    General Product Manager
    Reports To: CEO
    Location: Louisville, KY
    FLSA Status: Exempt, Full-Time
    Overview
NVX is building one of the most ambitious car audio product catalogs in the world-engineered for performance and designed to deliver exceptional value. Our next chapter is scaling NVX into a globally recognized product powerhouse across subwoofers, amplifiers, speakers, wiring, and accessories.
We are hiring a General Product Manager to lead the expansion of the NVX catalog from concept to shelf. This role blends global sourcing, technical product innovation, and data-driven execution. You will work directly with factories-primarily in China and broader Asia-to develop, cost, refine, and launch best-in-class products.
This is a high-intensity, hands-on operator role. We are looking for someone who understands factory dynamics, can navigate complex technical conversations with engineers, and is comfortable managing the "always-on" nature of global manufacturing.
    Responsibilities
    • End-to-End Lifecycle Management: Own the product development lifecycle (ideation sourcing production launch) on an intense, time-bound schedule.
    • Global Manufacturer Relations: Manage relationships with Global and Domestic manufacturers, ensuring all deliverables, annual budgets, and project milestones are met.
    • Technical Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with internal packaging design, international industrial design, and multi-disciplinary engineering teams (Electrical, Acoustic, and Software).
    • Technical Oversight: Review and understand complex design concepts including Solid Works (3D design), 3D Scanning, and 3D Printing/Prototyping.
    • Manufacturing Expertise: Oversee production processes including rotomolding, injection molding, and related fabrication methods to ensure product integrity.
    • International Coordination: Maintain proactive communication with overseas vendors via chat programs and internal tools, including availability during evening hours to align with Asian time zones.
    • Strategic Sourcing: Lead RFQ processes, analyze BOMs, and recommend cost optimizations without sacrificing performance.
    • Data-Driven Innovation: Use Excel and AI tools to model pricing, forecast demand, and identify new product opportunities based on market trends.
    • Quality & Testing: Ensure product excellence through rigorous sampling, testing, and factory feedback loops.

    Education & Skills Required
    • Bachelor's Degree: Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
    • International Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience working with manufacturers in Asia; must be comfortable traveling to China at least 2 times per year.
    • Technical Fluency: Ability to interpret technical drawings and understand the mechanics of injection molding, rotomolding, and 3D prototyping.
    • Software Proficiency: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience leveraging AI tools (ChatGPT, automation) for productivity.
    • Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate across cultures and time zones; must be comfortable with "after-hours" digital correspondence with overseas partners.

    Core Competencies
    • Time-Bound Execution: Ability to hit aggressive milestones within an intense project schedule.
    • Technical Literacy: Comfortable discussing specs with electrical and acoustic engineers.
    • Negotiation: Strong "cost-first" mindset with the ability to maintain high-quality standards.
    • Adaptability: Self-starter who thrives in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Industry Experience: Experience in Car Audio is a significant plus. While car electronics experience is not strictly required, a background in General Consumer Electronics is highly valued.
    • Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with the specific constraints and advantages of different molding and tooling processes.
    • Systems Experience: Familiarity with NetSuite or similar PLM/ERP systems.

    What We Offer
    • Competitive compensation package, including salary and performance-based bonuses.
    • Health benefits (medical, dental, vision) for US-based employees.
    • 401K plan for US-based employees.
    • Entrepreneurial, high-performance team environment.
    • Direct access to leadership and fast decision-making.
    • Discounts on all products.
    • Flexible work environment (remote or office-based).
    • Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays.
