Pharmacy Assistant
Location: Cary, NC | Onsite
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
ROLE IMPACT
Support the pharmacy distribution team by preparing, packaging, and shipping medications and supplies with accuracy and attention to detail. This role helps ensure patients receive timely deliveries while maintaining compliance with company procedures and state pharmacy regulations. Success is measured by accuracy, organization, and dependable daily execution in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Package medications, supplies, and patient materials while maintaining product integrity, sterility, and stability.
Electronically track shipments, verify delivery status, review shipping manifests, and reconcile carrier invoices for billing accuracy.
Coordinate with pharmacy staff to confirm patient demographics, shipping addresses, start dates, and delivery schedules.
Prepare and distribute approved patient communications regarding holiday or emergency pharmacy closures.
Complete shipping checklists, generate weekly shipping and usage reports, and support daily operational priorities with exceptional attention to detail.
Maintain a clean and organized shipping and packing area, reset the workspace daily, assist with unloading inbound deliveries, stage outbound shipments for carrier pickup, and dispose of packaging materials appropriately.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new software and use Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks including lifting, unloading shipments, and maintaining the work area.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Shipping, receiving, inventory management, warehouse, or distribution experience preferred.
Customer service experience with the ability to remain professional under pressure and interact compassionately with patients.
Detail-oriented, dependable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
