Job description

We're seeking a Staff Product Manager to own differentiating consumer experiences that drive company-level growth for the largest real estate brokerage in the U.S. As part of the consumer growth team, you'll be on the forefront of company strategy to show the world what sets Compass apart throughout the product. We're seeking a visionary, strategic thinker with big dreams and pragmatic decision-making who can bring the Compass mission to the consumer experience.ย 

At Compass You Will:ย 

  • Translate the Compass mission into a visionary roadmap that drives incremental business growth
  • Develop and execute on the product strategy and roadmap, leading the full product lifecycle from ideation through development to launch
  • Understand Compass' strategic and competitive position, leading your team to deliver products that are recognized as best in the industry
  • Partner closely with and influence senior leadership across the company to contribute to strategic priorities and initiatives
  • Work with agents, product marketing, support, and key internal stakeholders to carefully understand and analyze user needs, turning those into a product strategy, roadmap, and detailed specifications
  • Using detailed specifications as your foundation, collaborate with engineering and design leaders, driving accountability to ship features that are highly usable, and loved by our customers and staff
  • Lead quarterly and ongoing planning processes in partnership with engineering, ensuring alignment on priorities and delivery goals
  • Establish success frameworks and robust analytical capabilities to guide efforts with data driven and competitive insights
  • Cultivate a positive team culture that encourages collaboration, creativity, and innovation, fostering an environment where diverse perspectives are valued and respected

What We Look For:

  • 8+ years of product experience on a large-scale consumer marketplace
  • Track record of delivering 0 to 1 products that move the needle for the business
  • Real estate industry expertise, strongly preferred
  • Strong technical foundations, either from academic, engineering, or hands-on product development experience, with an ability to assess and contribute to engineering discussions related to a product
  • Ability to effectively gather and prioritize user requirements from disparate sources, going beyond user requests to get to key needs, and the ability to rationalize across and resolve stakeholder differences
  • Strong consensus and relationship-building skills, with experience marshaling resources across different functions of an organization
  • Demonstrated ability to develop inspiring, multi-year product vision that is aligned with business strategies
  • Ability to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced, high-growth, and rapidly changing environment, bringing clarity to ambiguity
  • Strategic product thinker who can examine the changing landscape and use that information to define product strategy and prioritize the problems to solve
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that allows you to influence other teams, create clarity, and drive focus on complex problems

Compensation: The base pay range for this position is $210,600-$231,700; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonuses and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits. Base pay is based on market location. Minimum wage for the position will always be met.
