We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Returnable Container Management Operations Manager in Morton, IL.
    Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. PSLD is responsible for the worldwide distribution of Cat aftermarket parts, integrated logistics, and global service to develop and support our global dealer network and customers.

    Job Summary:
    • This Returnable Container Management Operations Manager will manage the Operation of North America Returnable Container Network to support 70+ North American Caterpillar facilities and deploy the new technologies to automate and improve the operation efficiency

    Additional Info:
    • This role is located in Morton, IL and does not offer relocation
    • This role is 1st shift
    • This role is 100% on-site with no opportunity for hybrid or remote schedules
    • This role requires up to 10% domestic and international travel

    What You Will Do:
    • Manage the daily operation of the North America Returnable Container network to meet production facility needs
    • Manage the supplier relationship and negotiate contracts on behalf of Caterpillar
    • Deploy AI and automation technologies to drive more operational efficiency
    • Responsible for the annual container spending budget management and working with procurement to fund the cost reduction opportunities
    • Have regular communication with all manufacturing facilities for RCM policies and resolve any potential problems in the network
    • Responsible for leading a global team, talent development, and succession planning

    What You Have (Required Skills):
    • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
    • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
    • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
    • Performance Management: Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.
    • Service Excellence: Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner.
    • Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools, and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application, or operation.

    What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):
    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent
    • Manufacturing/Supply Chain/Operations experience
    • Past experience working with suppliers and contract negotiation
    • Experience implementing automation technology and data analytics
    • Past supervisory experience

    Summary Pay Range:
    $128,470.00 - $192,710.00
    Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
