At MMT, we design and build precision electro-chemical grinding and advanced machine tool systems used in critical medical and industrial manufacturing applications. Our customers depend on extreme accuracy, tight tolerances, and machine reliability.


We're hiring a Field Service Engineer I who thrives in technical environments, enjoys solving problems, and wants to work directly with customers to restore and optimize high-precision equipment.


If you have experience in machining, grinding, or precision equipment and want to expand into field service, this is your opportunity.


What You'll Do

As a Field Service Engineer I, you will be the primary technical contact for customers operating precision grinding equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Installing and commissioning precision electro-chemical grinding equipment
  • Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues in the field
  • Performing preventative maintenance and routine service
  • Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics
  • Applying GD&T knowledge and machining fundamentals to diagnose performance issues
  • Supporting machine alignments, calibrations, upgrades, and field modifications
  • Documenting service activities and maintaining accurate reports
  • Escalating complex technical issues to senior engineers when needed
  • Maintaining high standards of safety and quality

You will initially focus on one product line to build deep technical expertise, with opportunities to expand into additional equipment over time.


What We're Looking For

Required Experience & Skills

  • Experience working with machine tools (surface grinding, mills, lathes required)
  • Foundational mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of GD&T and ability to read technical drawings and schematics
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
  • 2-5 years of experience in field service, machining, grinding operations, machine assembly, or industrial equipment support
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Machining, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred

  • Experience with precision grinding equipment
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits, sensors, motors, and controls
  • Mitsubishi controls experience
  • Knowledge of G-Code
  • Experience using a ticket management system

Travel Expectations

  • 50-75% travel required
  • Overnight stays and occasional international travel
  • Work performed in industrial manufacturing environments
