    INTERVIEW / RELOCATION INFORMATION
    Reimbursement for interview and relocation expenses are available up to $10,000 pursuant to operational needs and fund availability. Reimbursement amounts and per diem rates will be based on the candidate's prospective classification as outlined in the bargaining unit agreement of the CalHR rules.

    IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The Medical Staff of Department of State Hospitals requires Staff Psychiatrist candidates meet the Medical Staff criteria for privileging set forth in the facility bylaws.
    Cut-off dates are every other Friday starting on May 1, 2026.

    Additional Salary Information:
    • 1% of annualized base salary paid as a one-time payment after 12 consecutive qualifying pay periods (QPP), increasing by 1% every 12 QPPs (2% at 24 QPPs, 3% at 36 QPPs, 4% at 48 QPPs, 5% at 60 QPPs), until maxing out at 7% of annualized base salary at 84 QPPs.
    • Recruitment and Retention bonuses of up to $94k for Board Eligible and $96k for Board Certified, depending on length of tenure.
    • Opportunity for yearly General Salary Increases (as determined by bargaining unit contracts)
