    Job description

    Overview

    We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Engineer to support utility infrastructure projects within a heavy industrial / commercial construction environment. This individual will play a key role in project planning, execution, and closeout, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in compliance with all regulatory standards.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Participate in project teams to develop:
    • Project scope, cost estimates, and schedules
    • Detailed construction plans and outage requirements
    • Conduct site visits and field assessments to validate scope
    • Support development of project schedules, including critical path analysis
    • Identify required permits and develop detailed project estimates
    • Coordinate with Utility Company major accounts group on outages impacting customers
    • Develop and manage construction bid packages:
    • Lead pre-bid meetings
    • Review contractor proposals and support vendor selection
    • Participate in constructability reviews across disciplines:
    • Site, foundation, electrical, relay, and transmission line
    • Perform quality assurance checks throughout construction
    • Monitor project progress against in-service dates
    • Ensure adherence to utility procedures, regulatory requirements, and safety standards
    • Manage contract closeout and ensure completion of as-built documentation


    Required Qualifications

    • 10+ years of experience in heavy industrial or commercial construction
    • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
    • Strong knowledge of:
    • Construction practices, techniques, and quality standards
    • Applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
    • OSHA and environmental regulations
    • Experience with construction contracts and labor agreements
    • Ability to coordinate with contractors, vendors, engineers, and cross-functional teams
    • Working knowledge of rigging and lifting methods
