    Overview

A global manufacturing organization is seeking a Controls Supervisor to lead a team of Controls Engineers supporting a high-volume, highly automated production facility. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for maintaining and improving plant automation systems while driving production uptime, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This individual will supervise a small team of Controls Engineers while remaining actively involved in troubleshooting, programming, and supporting automation equipment across the plant. The ideal candidate enjoys leading technical teams, thrives in fast-paced manufacturing environments, and is comfortable balancing production support with long-term improvement projects.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 4-5 Controls Engineers while providing technical guidance and support.
    • Support a high-volume manufacturing operation by troubleshooting controls, robotics, and automation equipment.
    • Lead multiple continuous improvement and capital projects simultaneously while tracking project timelines, KPIs, and deliverables.
    • Drive equipment reliability, line efficiency, and overall plant performance.
    • Program, troubleshoot, and modify PLCs, robotics, and vision systems.
    • Support equipment integration, commissioning, and startup activities.
    • Partner with Manufacturing, Production, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to resolve production issues and improve system performance.
    • Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly operational reviews and project updates.
    • Provide production support as needed, including occasional off-shift support for critical equipment issues.

    Required Qualifications

    • 5+ years of Controls Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Previous experience leading or supervising Controls Engineers, Automation Engineers, or similar technical teams.
    • Strong experience with Allen-Bradley PLC programming and troubleshooting.
    • Experience supporting industrial robotics, preferably Fanuc (Universal Robots experience is a plus).
    • Experience with industrial vision systems such as Keyence, Cognex, IFM, or similar technologies.
    • Experience troubleshooting production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects while balancing day-to-day production support.
    • Strong communication and leadership skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with Siemens PLCs.
    • Experience integrating robotics and vision systems.
    • Familiarity with industrial networks, VFDs, HMI/SCADA systems, and automation integration.
    • Automotive or other high-volume manufacturing experience.
    • Experience working in Just-in-Time (JIT) manufacturing environments.
