We are at the forefront of future engineering technologies, with solutions that ensure the success of our clients in key industries that are shaping the future of the world we live in.
Summary of the role
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing, the Proposal Manager plays a critical role in developing winning proposals for hydropower turbines, generators, and ancillary equipment across the US market. This position is responsible for managing the full sales cycle-from pre-bid activities such as budgetary estimates and customer meetings, through proposal development and internal reviews, to customer negotiations and seamless project handover to execution.
Core responsibilities of this role:
  • Develop and present sales proposals based on customer requirements, including sales assessment and planning, vendor negotiation, cost estimates, and final bid preparation.
  • Review the terms and conditions of a customer RFQ package and compare against internal legal guidelines, including identifying commercial risk and mitigation measures
  • Attend pre-bid conferences and establish bidding strategies.
  • Address technical and commercial issues related to the bid process.
  • Act as a liaison between various departments, subcontractors, and the customer.
  • Create and adhere to project schedules and cost evaluations related to bid preparation.
  • Evaluate and negotiate commercial terms and conditions for the bid.
  • Attend meetings with customers, consultants, subcontractors, and affiliates.

Do you fit the profile?
The ideal candidate will be a confident leader, capable of guiding both technical and commercial discussions, while fostering collaboration across a diverse proposal team. This role requires strong organizational skills to navigate a defined sales process, including securing internal approvals and aligning proposals with strategic business objectives. The Proposal Manager will indirectly lead a team of technical and commercial experts, both domestically and internationally, to define the scope, schedule, and budget of competitive, high-quality proposals.
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or foreign equivalent
    • 5-10 years of experience in the hydropower or similar industry (energy, water/wastewater, pumps, motors...) including commercial, or project management functions and commissioning experience; 10+yrs strongly preferred
    • Requires domestic travel, periodically up to 25%
    • Comprehensive knowledge of proposal development, estimating procedures/techniques, and typical construction assemblies, practices, and methods
    • Strong technical skills and experience reading technical drawings
    • Is comfortable being a key part of a project team
    • Ability to balance technical needs with project economics
    • Ability to evaluate and negotiate commercial terms and conditions for the bid
    • Ability to communicate technical details and to verbally discuss product and pricing issues to customers through written and verbal communication
