Job Summary

The Vice President of Global Electronics Manufacturing is a critical enterprise leader responsible for shaping and executing the end‑to‑end electronics manufacturing strategy across a global portfolio of lighting and controls solutions. This role sits at the intersection of product innovation, engineering, supply chain, and operations—ensuring scalable, resilient, and cost‑effective manufacturing capabilities that accelerate growth and differentiate performance in the market.

The VP will architect a future‑ready electronics ecosystem—driving standardization, modularity, and advanced manufacturing strategies while navigating geopolitical complexity, regulatory requirements, and evolving technology landscapes. This leader will build and lead a high‑performing global organization spanning strategy, NPI, manufacturing engineering, and operational excellence. The role reports directly to SVP, Global Manufacturing for Acuity Brands Lighting (ABL).

Key Responsibilities Business Excellence & Standardization
  • Enterprise Manufacturing Strategy: Define and lead the global electronics manufacturing strategy aligned with business growth, product roadmaps, and sustainability commitments.
    • Establish long‑term manufacturing footprint, automation, and platform strategies
    • Drive make‑vs‑buy decisions and geopolitical/tariff optimization
    • Ensure tight integration across product architecture, sourcing, and manufacturing ecosystems
  • Create a world‑class, scalable electronics manufacturing system.
    • Standardize engineering practices across design, validation, and system architecture
    • Advance design‑for‑excellence disciplines (DfM, DfA, thermal, modularity)
    • Embed governance models and digital tools that enable consistency, speed, and quality
Quality, Compliance & Reliability Leadership
  • Own global electronics quality standards, compliance, and regulatory adherence
  • Drive field performance, reliability targets, and closed‑loop continuous improvement
  • Build robust validation, testing, and lifecycle management capabilities
New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to transition concepts into scalable production
  • Drive platform‑based architectures and manufacturability at design stage
  • Lead supplier selection, qualification, and integration into NPI processes
Financial & Operational Performance
  • Own electronics cost structure, productivity roadmaps, and margin improvement
  • Lead CapEx strategy and ROI‑driven investment planning
  • Align manufacturing performance with broader business and portfolio strategy
Global Leadership & Talent Development
  • Lead teams across electronics engineering, manufacturing and supplier engineering
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical excellence
  • Drive change management and organizational evolution to meet future‑state ambitions
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Power Engineering
  • 12+ years of relevant experience
  • Extensive Electronics Manufacturing expertise
  • Experience in Supply Chain and Cost leadership in Electronics
  • Experience utilizing software for late‑stage customization within manufacturing
  • Cross‑functional and Executive Influence
  • Strategic leadership and transformation

Preferred Experience
  • Master’s Degree
