Job description

Role Purpose
The Project Manager will serve as the overall lead responsible for managing the planning, coordination, and execution of the Public Health Data Portal Expansion project. This role ensures that project deliverables, development activities, and stakeholder coordination are completed according to the approved project plan, timeline, and requirements defined by the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS).
This role supports overall project governance, Agile sprint management, and delivery of system milestones.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Governance
  • Develop and manage the project plan, timeline, and milestones.
  • Establish communication protocols and governance structure for project execution.
  • Coordinate with ADHS Project Manager and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Agile Project Management
  • Lead Agile ceremonies including:
    • Sprint planning
    • Daily standups
    • Sprint reviews
    • Backlog grooming sessions
  • Track sprint progress and ensure development aligns with project priorities.
Deliverable and Milestone Management
  • Ensure project deliverables meet milestone deadlines and quality expectations.
  • Monitor progress of development, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Submit deliverables through the dotStaff VMS system for approval.
Risk and Issue Management
  • Identify potential project risks and challenges.
  • Develop mitigation strategies to maintain schedule and deliverable quality.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience managing IT or software development projects.
  • Experience managing projects using Agile and SDLC methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing government or public sector technology projects.
  • Experience with data portals, analytics platforms, or public health systems.
  • PMP, Scrum Master, or Agile certification.
