Job Description:
Summary
Seeking experienced and detail-oriented Estimating Manager to join our team based out of Tampa, Florida. The position will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and submission of accurate and competitive construction cost estimates for various projects. This role requires a deep understanding of construction processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage a team of estimators.
Regular Job Duties
  • Lead and manage the estimating team, providing guidance and ensuring high performance.
  • Develop detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to ensure accuracy in estimates.
  • Establish and maintain cost databases, estimating software, and historical bid data.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans for project bids.
  • Submit bids and proposals within the required timeframe and ensure compliance with bid requirements and standards.
  • Continuously improve estimating processes and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements to ensure competitive and current estimating practices.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
  • Monitor awarded projects to ensure estimates align with actual project costs and make adjustments as needed.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on estimating activities and project status

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
