What you'll be doing...
Design and specify redundant, highly available systems for use in the Network Security "Big Data" collection environment. 10% Identify technology gaps to lead in the design, architecture, and implementation of appropriate solutions collaboratively. 5% Work with the purchasing team to procurement for the data center solutions. 5% Create formal guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure smooth and error-free operations. 5% Deploy, support and maintain data center compute, infrastructure and storage environment. 15% Deploy, maintain "Big Data" cybersecurity data bus clusters. 5% Monitor for various cybersecurity using monitoring tools cybersecurity anomalies. 5% Deploy, maintain "Big Data" cybersecurity data analytics clusters. 10% Participate in capacity planning activities and identify areas for improvements in managing network resource and inventory. 10% Respond to and investigate network cybersecurity incidents across Verizon's infrastructure, ensuring rapid containment, mitigation, and recovery while maintaining compliance with internal policies and industry standards. 5% Design consultation for distributed "Big Data" collection. 10% Deploy and configure appropriate network solutions for high data center networks. 10% Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to system outages and incidents. 5%
What we're looking for...
Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Networking, Telecommunications and Network Security, Electronic Engineering or a related field, and 6 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or as a Network Administrator, Systems Administrator, or in a related/similar position. Experience therein to include 6 years in the following:
Administering Linux-based enterprise systems and cloud infrastructure;
Troubleshooting IP networking protocol issues in DNS and SMTP;
Troubleshooting user access management tools, including RADIUS, LDAP, or KERBEROS;
Building and maintaining Docker container images;
Working with relational database management systems, including PostgreSQL;
Troubleshooting storage technologies, including iSCSI and NFS;
Using version control systems, including Git;
Using scripting and automation tools, including Ansible, Python and Bash;
Monitoring, logging, and alerting systems at scale; and
Performing cybersecurity principles, including hardening, auditing, and compliance.

Where you'll be working
In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.
