Job description

When you join Verizon

At Verizon, we power and empower how people live, work and play by connecting them to what brings them joy. We do what we love - driving innovation, creativity, and impact in the world. Our V Team is a community of people who anticipate, lead, and believe that listening is where learning begins. In crisis and in celebration, we come together - lifting our communities and building trust in how we show up, everywhere & always. Want in? Join the #VTeamLife.
What you'll be doing...
Verizon Business is leading the next frontier of telecom monetization by transforming our world-class 5G network into an open, programmable platform. We are seeking an entrepreneurial and strategic Senior Manager to partner directly with the Director of Network APIs to scale, grow, and drive our global Network API program.
In this role, you will sit at the intersection of network engineering, product strategy, and external developer ecosystems. You will be instrumental in executing Verizon's API monetization roadmap-leveraging global frameworks like CAMARA and the GSMA Open Gateway alliance-to unlock new B2B revenue streams in identity verification, fraud prevention, edge computing, and dynamic quality of service (QoS).
Responsibilities:
  • Program Acceleration & Scaling: Formulate and execute the programmatic strategy alongside the Director to scale Verizon's Network API commercial footprint globally.
  • Ecosystem & Developer Relations: Cultivate strong relationships with aggregators, hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP), global enterprises, and the broader developer community to accelerate API adoption.
  • Go-To-Market (GTM) Strategy: Lead cross-functional launches for new network capabilities (e.g., SIM Swap, Number Verification, Quality on Demand). Partner with Product Marketing and B2B Sales to enable the field and build a robust customer pipeline.
  • Industry Standardization: Serve as a key Verizon representative in global alliances such as the GSMA Open Gateway initiative and CAMARA (Linux Foundation), ensuring Verizon's strategic interests shape universal standards.
  • Cross-Functional Orchestration: Bridge the gap between deeply technical network engineering teams and commercial business units to translate advanced 5G capabilities into easy-to-consume RESTful APIs.
  • Performance Tracking: Establish and manage program KPIs, developer sign-ups, API utilization metrics, and revenue targets to present actionable insights to executive leadership.

What we're looking for...
You have a unique blend of technical acumen and business development savvy. You understand that an API is a product, and you thrive on turning highly technical infrastructure capabilities into scalable, commercialized solutions.
You'll need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
  • Four or more years of experience working in product management, technology or SaaS, or telecommunications.
  • Solid understanding of the API economy, developer platforms, and cloud/hyperscaler environments.
  • Proven track record of operating effectively in a heavily matrixed organization, driving alignment across sales, product, and technical engineering teams.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:
  • Direct experience working with telco API standards, specifically CAMARA and GSMA Open Gateway.
  • Exceptional ability to synthesize complex technology architectures into compelling commercial value propositions for C-suite clients and partners.
  • Deep familiarity with 5G architecture, network slicing, MEC (Mobile Edge Compute), and identity/fraud mitigation solutions.
  • A background in developer evangelism or managing open-source software ecosystem partnerships.
  • A hands-on, "roll up your sleeves" mindset with a reputation as a change agent in fast-paced tech environments.
  • Experience leading a team.

If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every "even better" qualification listed above.
If you believe this job posting is missing information required by the Virginia wage or salary range transparency law, please report it via vz.tatc@verizon.com.
