Job description

The Bilingual HR Assistant providesdedicated human resources support to construction project teams,with primary responsibility for assisting with new hire orientations, employee engagement events and initiatives, and delivering real-time translation services for field employees and project leadership. This role ensures effectivecommunication, regulatory compliance, and workforce engagement across diverse, fast-paced construction environments. Fluency in English and Spanish is required to perform essential job functions, including conducting orientations and providing real-time translation for Spanish-speaking employees. This positionworks closely with Project Leadership, Safety, Payroll, and Human Resources to support project workforce needs.

Key Responsibilities:
Orientation &Workforce Onboarding (Primary Function)
Conduct in-person new hire orientations for craft and field employees in English and Spanish as required.
Review and explain company policies, safety requirements, jobsite expectations, and code of conduct.
Ensure accurate completion of onboarding documentation including I-9s, E-Verify, tax forms, direct deposit forms, and project-specific compliance paperwork.
Coordinate and assist where needed with badging, site access, and orientation tracking for project compliance.
Assist Human Resources and Training in maintaining organized and audit-ready employee files in accordance with federal, state, and company regulations.
Partner with Safety to reinforce jobsite safety culture during onboarding.

Translation & Communication Support (Primary Function):
Provide on-site verbal translation between craft employees, foremen, superintendents, and project leadership.
Translate safety materials, toolbox talks, HR policies, disciplinary documentation, benefits information, leader development engagements, and project
communications.
Support investigations, employee meetings, corrective actions, and conflict resolution discussions as needed.
Assist during safety orientations, OSHA-related discussions, and compliance meetings to ensure clear understanding.
Serve as a communication liaison between field workforce and HR/management.

Project HR & Workforce Support:
Assist the Trades Manager with employee relations issues, attendance concerns, and workforce documentation.
Support manpower tracking, workforce reporting, and headcount management.
Coordinate with Payroll to ensure accurate employee types and pay plans are established in SAP.

Compliance & Administrative Support:
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
Support audits related to I-9, E-Verify, DHS mismatch notifications, and project- specific labor requirements.
Ensure adherence to company policies and construction industry labor standards.
Maintain accurate records within HRIS systems and project tracking platforms.

The salary range for this position is estimated to be 60,750.00 - 90,830.00 annualized.
