Job description

The Role

As a People Operations Coordinator at Triumph, you'll bridge our HR and day-to-day warehouse operations - supporting the team behind our fastest-growing app, Rips. Our ops workforce is 60+ strong and growing fast, and this role will help our People Ops and TCG/Rips Operations Management teams stay organized, compliant, and focused on the people doing the work.

You'll work closely with both the Head of People Operations and the TCG/Rips Operations Management team, assisting across core HR functions — onboarding support, HRIS administration, compliance, timesheets and payroll support — while being a reliable point of contact for our associates. It's a cross-functional support role with real visibility into how a fast-growing people function is built.

You'll work on-site at our Mountain View warehouse, Monday–Thursday, 32 hours per week to start, with strong potential to grow into a full Mon-Fri FT role as the team scales. A consistent schedule is the expectation, but occasional flexibility to shift days based on business needs is a plus.

This is a great fit for someone early in their People Ops / HR career who's eager to learn and grow alongside a fast-scaling team.

What You'll Do

HR Administration & Compliance

  • Assist in maintaining accurate employee records in our HRIS (Rippling) - new hires, terminations, status changes, and employment verifications.

  • Assist with audits and help ensure records and processes stay compliant with California employment law, including wage and hour requirements and required labor law postings.

  • Support I-9 verification and employment eligibility documentation.

  • Help administer California leave programs (CFRA, SDI, PTO) and track leave balances, escalating complex situations to the Head of People Ops.

Onboarding & Recruiting Support

  • Be a knowledgeable, friendly resource for new hires throughout the onboarding process - answering questions, providing guidance, and helping everything run smoothly.

  • Assist with recruiting coordination: help schedule interviews, support screening, and contribute to a great candidate experience during high-volume hiring.

  • Support offboarding processes, including exit documentation and coordination with payroll.

Scheduling & Timekeeping

  • Review, approve, and process timecards, and flag discrepancies ahead of each pay cycle.

  • Coordinate with the ops management team on scheduling across both shifts (7 days/week), helping track attendance and identify coverage gaps.

  • Support meal and rest break compliance by staying current on CA requirements, fielding questions from associates and managers, and flagging issues caught during timecard review.

Benefits & Payroll Support

  • Serve as a first point of contact for associate questions about pay, PTO, benefits enrollment, and HR policies, routing to the right resource when needed.

  • Assist with payroll data and reporting as needed.

General People Ops Support

  • Help manage HR correspondence, coordinate cross-functional meetings and training logistics, and support ad hoc projects across the people and ops functions.

  • Partner on cross-functional People Ops initiatives - support projects across onboarding, systems, reporting, compliance, and employee experience as the company scales.

  • Support the broader People Ops team by sharing knowledge, documenting processes, and providing coverage across operational workflows as needed.

  • Stay flexible: as we scale, priorities will shift. We need someone who adapts quickly, takes initiative, and steps in wherever the team needs them most.

Qualifications
  • 1–2+ years of HR / people operations experience; hands-on exposure to onboarding, compliance, employee relations, or the broader employee lifecycle is especially welcome.

  • That said, 1–3 years of solid related experience will be considered for the right candidate.

  • Experience with Rippling is a significant advantage; broader HRIS or timekeeping system experience is also a plus.

  • Experience managing schedules or timecards in a shift-based, hourly environment is a plus.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong communication skills and the discretion to handle sensitive employee information appropriately.

  • Scrappy and adaptable - you juggle competing priorities without dropping the ball and are comfortable working through ambiguity.

  • Familiarity with California employment law is a strong plus.

  • A genuine interest in gaming, Pokémon, collectibles, or the TCG space is a bonus

Why Triumph?
  • High Growth: Join a People Ops team supporting one of the most rapidly scaling operations teams in the TCG space - real ownership, real impact, from day one.

  • High Agency: You'll be a key support resource across HR and ops, with room to grow as we 2x our team in the coming months.

  • High Energy: A passionate, fast-moving team that takes pride in our work and velocity (16x year over year growth).

  • Competitive pay and benefits: healthcare, vision, dental, 401k, and more.

Compensation Range: $70K - $85K
