Job description

Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in mechanical design, product development, and 3D CAD modeling. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on designing, modeling, testing, and improving mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.

You’ll work from product requirements and concepts set by leadership — leaning on internal standards, industry standards, manufacturing know-how, and your own curiosity to get the design right — then carry it through design-for-manufacturing review and supplier support to final documentation. This is a hands-on execution role with a clear path to grow into broader engineering ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using SolidWorks
  • Develop detailed 3D models, drawings, and engineering documentation
  • Create prototypes and support testing activities
  • Analyze designs for manufacturability, reliability, and cost efficiency
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and project teams
  • Support product improvements and new product development initiatives
  • Troubleshoot design issues and implement engineering solutions
  • Maintain accurate engineering records and revision control

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 3+ years of mechanical design engineering experience
  • Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks
  • Strong experience creating 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings
  • Experience with product design and development
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with sheet metal, machined parts, weldments, or fabricated assemblies
  • Experience moving products from concept to production
  • Simulation, or testing experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment

What We're Looking For

  • Hands-on designer and problem solver
  • Strong SolidWorks user
  • Product-focused engineer
  • Self-starter who enjoys creating and improving designs
  • Someone looking to grow with the company and make a direct impact
