WHO WE ARE:

This position is located at 1117 Trinity St, Austin, TX in the Data Analysis department.

WHO YOU ARE:
You will share our department's mission to ensure that the Procurement Services solicitation processes and contract development work is done ethically, transparently, impartially, and professionally. Time is of the essence in this department, and the ideal candidate will work diligently to achieve procurement and contract goals as swiftly as possible. We strive to ensure that acquisitions of program services are conducted with the best outcome for the customer and the State in mind.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Project Manager II performs moderately complex (journey-level) project management work. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:
-Work on Child Care and Early Learning procurement and contract projects that will directly impact the lives of Texas families.
-Coordinate, plan, and evaluate projects using accepted project management methodologies.
-Coordinate project activities with other state agencies, governmental jurisdictions or private sector partners and contractors.
-Review and recommend proposals and bids to management.
-Monitor and manage project quality to ensure project deliverables are acceptable, fulfill the terms of the project contract or specifications, and are completed within budget.
-Identify potential project risks and difficulties and design strategies to mitigate or avoid them.
-Communicate project methodology and processes to interested groups and team members.
-Be part of a team of fast-paced and dynamic procurement leads that consistently strives to implement best practices and process improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
YOU QUALIFY WITH:
-Three years of full-time experience in project management work, business analysis, or project administration; or three years of full-time experience in the oversight of an agency program or in strategic planning and policy implementation.
-Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
-One year of full-time in-service TWC experience classified as a Project Manager I with regular status will satisfy the minimum qualifications.
YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH:

-Strong communication and organization skills with attention to detail.
-Knowledge of project management theories and practices applicable to projects of moderate scope.

-Skill in operation of computers and applicable software.
-Ability to demonstrate negotiation and facilitation skills.
-Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
