Job description

As a Business Development Manager, you'll be responsible for driving growth through securing new business opportunities and expanding the market presence of Spire's Space Services product portfolio within the U.S. Federal market. This role offers one the opportunity to jumpstart their career within the space industry, engaging key stakeholders in the government and commercial sectors to give business growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive revenue and market expansion within the U.S. Federal Government and commercial sectors.
  • Identify and secure new government and commercial contracts, leveraging industry connections and market insights including RFP/RFQ and others for Spire to bid on.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including U.S. Federal agency leaders, prime contractors, and government agencies.
  • Lead negotiations for complex, high-value deals and manage long sales cycles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product development, and pre-sales technical solutions to align solutions with customer needs.
  • Initiate or support various projects in your territory, that can range from complex negotiations with our partners to specific marketing initiatives.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to enhance brand visibility and generate new opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of full desk B2G sales experience
  • Experience managing long-term business relationships to securing high contracts
  • Understanding of the commercial and Federal space markets, industry trends and competitive landscape
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and leadership skills
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to support business goals

Preferred qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the military or a comparable high-demand, high-discipline civilian role
  • Proficiency within a Sales software (Salesforce, HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, etc)

Additional Information:

  • This role offers a base salary (range listed) and a competitive commission structure which is defined by candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience along with business considerations
  • Spire operates a hybrid work model, and this position will require you to work a minimum of three days per week in the Washington, D.C. (Vienna, VA) office.
