Product Specialist - Siemens

The Product Specialist - Siemens will provide technical support and expertise to sales and technical teams for the purpose of winning complex sales.  Develop and manage the relationship between Price Engineering, Siemens, and designated accounts utilizing specific application knowledge to maximize and secure profitable sales of Siemens products and services at Price Engineering.

Essential Functions
  • Act as the front-line expert for Siemens products and solutions at Price Engineering; Develop deep technical knowledge of Siemens products through training with supplier.
  • Work closely with assigned supplier representatives and Price Engineering management to develop the sales strategy for Siemen products and applications (e.g., identifying key customers, target customers, and relevant applications for the market).
  • Provide technical support, and training, and arrange the transfer of knowledge of Automation products and applications to the Price Engineering team.
  • Support sales team effectively through consultative selling and deep knowledge of applications and customer processes.
  • Present solutions for complex applications to customers in the form of presentations, lunch and learns, and mobile product expositions.
  • Work with Price sales and engineering teams with proposal development.
  • Assess commercial and technical feasibility of proposals, based on technical and application knowledge for the corresponding industry segment.
  • Develop customer-specific solutions per the regulations of the industry segments in question.
  • Coordinate communication between customers and Price Engineering team regarding product support, pricing, and overall customer satisfaction concerns.
  • Analyze  the market to search for potential customers; Identify potential applications and solutions that could be of value for both new and existing customers
Experience, Education and Skills
  • B.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent work experience
  • 3 years in a technical position either in sales or application engineering
  • Knowledge of industrial control applications including motion control and automation
  • PLCs, HMI's, VFD's, Power Supplies
  • Excellent technical training abilities
  • Ability and willingness to travel 30%, supporting sales, engineering, and service personnel
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent technical and marketing presentation and writing skills
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
