Sales Development Advisor

Job Summary:

SelectQuote is seeking experienced, driven, resilient, and results-oriented sales professionals to join our Qualifications Team as a Sales Development Advisor (SDA).

The SDA is an unlicensed, outbound sales position responsible for contacting prospective customers, generating interest in SelectQuote's products, understanding customer needs, overcoming objections, and transferring qualified prospects to a licensed insurance agent.

This is not a customer service role. This is a high-volume, metrics-driven sales position. Successful candidates must be comfortable making hundreds of outbound calls each day, working from established scripts and processes, handling rejection, and consistently working toward performance goals.

This role provides paid training, a base salary plus bonus opportunity, and a potential career path into a licensed sales agent position. After demonstrating success in the role, SelectQuote will provide opportunities to enter a sales training program and assist with obtaining an insurance license.

Candidates who currently hold an insurance license will not be considered for this position.

After applying, qualified candidates will receive a phone call to complete our pre-screening questionnaire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Make high-volume outbound calls to prospective customers, with activity of up to 800 calls per day.
  • Generate interest and create meaningful engagement with prospective customers.
  • Quickly establish rapport and communicate confidently and professionally over the phone.
  • Identify customer needs and qualify prospects for transfer to a licensed insurance agent.

  • Handle and overcome objections, stalls, hesitation, and rejection throughout the sales conversation.

  • Follow established sales scripts, processes, and instructions while maintaining a natural and engaging conversation.

  • Meet or exceed monthly transfer, contact-to-transfer, and other performance goals.

  • Accept coaching and demonstrate the ability to apply feedback to improve sales performance.

  • Work effectively with multiple monitors, software applications, and phone systems.

  • Maintain consistent attendance, punctuality, productivity, and performance.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of telesales, inside sales, phone sales, or comparable sales experience required.

  • Strong active listening and communication skills.

  • Ability to follow scripts and established sales processes.

  • Ability to accept coaching and implement feedback.

  • Professional and reliable work habits.

  • Consistent employment history and demonstrated commitment to previous roles preferred.

  • SelectQuote will support successful associates in pursuing an insurance license and progressing into a licensed sales role.

This Role Is a Good Fit for You If:

  • You have a genuine sales mindset and enjoy influencing customers toward a next step.
  • You are comfortable making a very high volume of outbound calls every day.
