Maximus is currently hiring a Clinic Assistant to join our Veterans Evaluation Services (VES) team in Mississippi. This is a part-time position. The Clinic Assistant supports providers and veterans on exam days by assisting as needed, addressing issues in a solutions-oriented manner, and updating case statuses. The ideal candidate is motivated by service and brings a caring, positive, and respectful approach when supporting our nation's veterans.
Due to contract requirements, only US Citizen or a Green Card holder can be considered for this opportunity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform all job functions in compliance with HIPAA policies and adhere to local and externally relevant health and safety laws and policies.
- Gather and provide necessary information to providers; may include gathering forms, documents, and vital signs necessary to the evaluation.
- Provide a high level of customer service by greeting and directing all visitors, answering inquiries, confirming contact and appointment information, and otherwise facilitating a positive experience.
- Document all actions taken and other pertinent information as it relates to veteran and provider interaction.
- Clean exam rooms between each appointment and otherwise maintain stock and cleanliness of the clinic throughout the day.
- This is a part-time position, averaging approximately 35 hours per week, with hours assigned based on clinic operational needs. Clinic hours are 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, seven (7) days per week with clinicians scheduled 7:30 AM-6:30 PM. Candidates must have full availability across this entire time frame. This role does not offer flexible scheduling, fixed shifts, or the ability to choose workdays or hours. Availability is a mandatory requirement for consideration.
- Must live within 80-90 miles of Columbus, MS or Greenville, MS (approximately 1.5 hours one-way)
- Must be willing and able to travel to other clinics as needed, to include but not limited to: AR, KY, LA, TN, VA, and WV
- Must be willing and able to work some weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) as needed
- Customer service/hospitality industry experience highly preferred
- Valid Driver License required (not currently suspended/revoked/expired)
- Experience in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) highly preferred - Please note upon hire, Veteran Evaluation Services (VES), a Maximus Co. will provide all necessary computer equipment that is to be utilized to fulfil the duties of your role. New hires will not be exempt from using company provided equipment.
- Must currently and permanently reside in the Continental US
Home Office Requirements Using Maximus-Provided Equipment:
- Internet speed of 20mbps or higher required (you can test this by going to (www.speedtest.net)
- Connectivity to the internet via either Wi-Fi or Category 5 or 6 ethernet patch cable to the home router
- Private work area and adequate power source
