Job description

Overview

Lutron is seeking a highly technical Principal Electrical Engineer out of our Corporate Headquarters in Coopersburg, PA to help bring bedrock product innovations to the market.  In this role, you will be a technical expert on a cross functional team developing innovative and high-quality products that maintain and expand our market position as the world leader in automated lighting controls.  You will have the opportunity to join a dynamic group—learning from experiences and from one another; we are always seeking to discover new technologies, materials, as well as design techniques and aesthetics. The products and systems you develop are destined for use in the most cutting-edge residential and commercial environments. 


Responsibilities
  • Apply your analog and power electronics expertise to innovate in these areas:  power supply design, linear circuits, thermal management, circuit noise reduction, EMI mitigation and compliance with global standards
  • Contribute in a hands-on environment.  Drive PCB design, simulation, prototyping, and analysis of Lutron products throughout the product development cycle
  • Leverage Lutron’s quality philosophies and state-of-the-art test lab to ensure high quality in a customer-centric culture
  • Collaborate across disciplines (RF, mechanical engineering, embedded software, manufacturing, supply chain, business) to develop Lutron’s next generation lighting control solutions 
  • Innovate in many product categories, including dimmers, switches, sensors, smart home products, and wireless controls
  • Work with other engineers as peer reviewer and mentor, while contributing to their technical growth
  • Develop and bring new technologies to Lutron to foster innovation across the company
  • Engage Lutron suppliers to identify electronics technology to drive Lutron innovation

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of industry experience in analog circuits and power electronics design anddevelopment 
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Electronics Engineering
  • Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.00 for all degrees earned 
  • Proven understanding of analog circuits, physics fundamentals, and power electronics
  • Embedded programming experience is a plus 
  • Hands-on attitude and proven work ethic
