Job description

Position Facility: Watertown
Producing high-quality products for our customers and consumers to enjoy starts with immaculate facilities. As a member of Johnsonville's sanitation team, you'll ensure all our facilities are cleaned in accordance with strict procedures to meet or exceed our high sanitation and food-safety standards. Working with chemicals, hoses, lifts and other equipment, you'll ensure our facilities are ready for the next shift of production.
Position Overview
Hourly Rate: $25.98/hr + $1.50 Shift Premium
Hours: 5:00pm - 10:00pm, Monday - Friday (On average 29 hours per week).
Your contribution will ensure that Johnsonville products are of the highest quality and meet our defined standards of safety. You'll learn about a variety of Sanitation processes, expanding your existing knowledge for application into the business of making sausage. There is unlimited opportunity for growth as you become an active contributor to the Sanitation Team and assist your team in the quest for continual improvement.
Responsibilities
• Use cleaning and sanitizing chemicals
• Rinse, foam, scrub, and sanitize Harvest and Harvest Processing washrooms ensuring that all areas meet Johnsonville and USDA standards of acceptability
• Rinse, foam, scrub, and sanitize Harvest and Harvest Processing PPE (mesh gear, aprons, gloves, sleeves, and knife scabbards).
• Wipe condensation
• Be able to perform and rotate through several job functions within each department
• Prepare facility equipment for cleaning by locking out machinery and covering all electrical equipment with plastic
• Proper set up and teardown of equipment within the facility
• Conduct environmental and bioluminescence swabbing
• In depth knowledge of equipment functions and the ability to assist in troubleshooting
• Identify and resolve potential problems
• Must be able to complete sanitation documentation paperwork accurately
Experience
• Basic sanitation experience preferred
Skills
• Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP's)
• Must be able to identify Critical Control Points (CCPs) in area of responsibility and maintain all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
• Must be dependable, honest and proactive
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required
• Must be able to become certified in chemical usage
Physical Demands:
• Ability to work at heights that are above ground level
• Ability to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis
• Ability to work in cold and wet conditions
• Ability to hold a hose for an extended period of time
• Physical demands for this position require walking or standing most of the time
Other Requirements
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to pass a pre-employment, post offer drug screen, physical and background check
