Ingram Micro is looking for a talented and highly motivated Sr. Manager, Software Development who oversees and supervises engineering teams which would typically consist of both experienced professionals and supervisors/managers. This position will be responsible for the delivery of global deployment of one or more products in Ingram Micro's digital transformation portfolio. The primary responsibility of this position is to understand the vision for each product their team works on and deliver business value by getting quality products out the door. The Sr. Manager is responsible for the quality of the work the software team delivers as well as for the proper software lifecycle management within the scrum methodology. Need to be particularly good at building relationships with business leaders, product managers, and scrum masters to reach a level of communication and alignment that will help the team deliver 2-week sprints without any major obstacles.
The Sr. Manager needs to ensure that new initiatives will adhere to defined architectural requirements and methodologies while planning and guiding the evolution of Ingram Micro's Digital ecosystem to support new requirements in a changing business environment. This role will continuously innovate and evolve the usability and efficiency of the tools, make sure the services provided align with business and technology trends, and actively seek out new technologies and new approaches.
Your role:
  • Foster a culture that promotes creativity, collaboration, speed, innovation, and excellence, continually enhancing the quality of our engineering organization.
  • Engage in strategic planning sessions with product management, architecture, and design with business users in the U.S. and Canada.
  • Responsible for compliance-related data in the U.S. and Canada in master data platforms.
  • Partner closely with business teams based in Ingram Micro offices located Toronto and Ontario, Canada and Buffalo, New York, United States of America.
  • Cultivate cross-departmental relationships focused on executing the company's strategy.
  • Effectively communicate with team members, internal stakeholders, and external customers.
  • Lead a team of professionals to develop and implement creative solutions.
  • Contribute to technical engineering designs, resource management, and solution implementations.
  • Provide thought leadership and participate in initiatives to optimize processes, such as implementing software and industry best practices.
  • Identify new opportunities in and encourage teams to adopt innovative ideas.
  • Instill a culture of servant leadership among leaders and empower them to excel in their areas of responsibility.
  • Collaborate across teams and geographic boundaries to ensure seamless integration of the solution.
  • Continuously improve development and delivery processes and practices.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to recruit, hire, train, and oversee the Engineering team.
  • Identify training needs for teams and collaborate with leadership and HR teams to conduct training using appropriate platforms.
  • Manage hiring, salary decisions, performance reviews, and mentorship of professionals.
  • Advocate for a DevOps mindset, where teams take accountability for the product lifecycle from inception to sunset.
  • Demonstrate the ability to quickly grasp new technology and complex workflows.
  • Interact with engineers and designers on technical topics to identify the best possible decisions.

What you bring to the role:
  • BS, MS, MBA, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related technical discipline
  • 12+ years working in software engineering in building modular or headless applications at scale with the highest quality, security, and availability
  • 7+ years leadership experience in engineering or similar technical leadership experience
  • Experience with architectural design recommendation and guidance
  • Demonstrated experience leading the design, development, delivery, and maintenance of large scale and high-performance platforms
  • Software development experience building enterprise SaaS cloud-based solutions
  • Experience in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Knowledge of release management and deployment workflow processes, from development release through production deployment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build productive cross-departmental relationships and motivate team members
  • A positive, can-do attitude and value collaboration are a must
  • Experience with object-oriented code, C++, C#, Python, PostgreSQL, Front End Web, Web Services, SQL/No SQL Databases, event-driven microservices, Microfrontends, SPAs.
  • Integrations tools experience like Mulesoft/Tibco/Workato.
  • Technical expertise that enables meaningful conversations with product architects & engineers.
  • Hands-on experience designing, developing, or integrating AI/ML solutions into enterprise applications using modern LLM platforms such as Gemini (Google), Claude (Anthropic), and Microsoft Copilot
  • Strong understanding of modern AI technologies, including large language models (LLMs), generative AI, NLP, and computer vision, with practical application through platforms like Gemini/Claude/Copilot.
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering, fine-tuning techniques, and AI-assisted development tools, particularly in the context of LLM-based platforms
  • Ability to evaluate and identify high-impact AI use cases leveraging using different LLM platform including assessing model performance, scalability, and enterprise integration considerations
  • Passion for learning, sharing knowledge, mentoring, and working in a team setting with engineers of varying levels of experience
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with business strategy, business modeling, technology strategy, and roadmap planning and scenario analysis.
  • Experience architecting, implementing, and operating large-scale, highly available applications at scale in a cloud environment (GCP, Azure, AWS) using cloud-native technologies and tooling
  • Developing and implementing technical efforts to design, build, and deploy cloud applications, including large-scale data processing, computationally intensive statistical modeling, and advanced analytics
  • Participating in all aspects of the software development life cycle for cloud solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance
  • Experience with data systems and data processing, including query processing, cloud-based data systems and analytics, and structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
  • Experience in several of the following areas: serverless environments, database architecture, ETL, business intelligence, big data, machine learning, advanced analytics, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $158,900.00 - $270,100.00 per year.
The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate's primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.
At Ingram Micro certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus or sales incentives and long-term incentives. These awards are allocated based on position level and individual performance.
