Job description

Your new company

Join a rapidly growing commercial general contractor that has built a reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects through a collaborative, team-first approach. Over the past several years, the company has experienced tremendous growth, expanding from a small operation into a highly respected regional contractor with more than $150M in annual revenue. Their focus isn't simply completing projects - it's delivering exceptional results, developing their people, and building long-term relationships with both clients and employees.

With a strong backlog of repeat business and a culture centered around operational excellence, this is an organization where ambitious construction professionals can build a long-term career and see a clear path for advancement.

Your new role

As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll support the Project Management team in the successful delivery of ground-up commercial construction projects ranging from $20M–$30M, along with select interior renovation projects. This is a hands-on role that offers significant exposure to all phases of the construction life cycle.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with project execution from pre-construction through closeout.
  • Developing purchasing schedules and coordinating procurement activities.
  • Supporting subcontractor buyout, contract administration, and vendor management.
  • Tracking project financials, budgets, pay applications, and change orders.
  • Working closely with Superintendents to maintain accurate project schedules.
  • Coordinating with estimating, purchasing, field teams, clients, architects, and subcontractors.
  • Maintaining project documentation and ensuring timely project reporting.
  • Building strong relationships with clients and trade partners to ensure successful project outcomes.

Project types include grocery stores, retail centers, office buildings, warehouses, banks, recreation facilities, dealerships, medical renovations, and other commercial construction projects.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of commercial construction experience with a General Contractor.
  • Experience supporting ground-up construction projects, ideally $10M+ in value.
  • Understanding of construction documents, project sequencing, and construction means and methods.
  • Experience with project management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar.
  • Exposure to budgeting, cost tracking, change orders, scheduling, and pay applications.
  • Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
  • A team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

What you'll get in return

  • Base salary of $85,000–$100,000 + performance-based bonus opportunities
  • Company-paid health insurance
  • Dental, vision, life, disability, and HSA benefits
  • 401(k) with 6% company match
  • Paid parental leave
  • Generous PTO and paid holidays
  • Cell phone allowance
  • Company fuel card
  • Professional development and ongoing training
  • Clear career advancement opportunities within a growing organization
