Summary:  This position is responsible for all facets of general maintenance.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Observes all Safety policies and procedures as outlined within Newell Brands' Safety Excellence and Leadership (SEAL) program.
  • Drive success through the Company's Planning, Engagement, Awareness and Knowledge (PEAK) continuous improvement program.
  • Personally responsible for upholding the Newell Brands Values and the Code of Conduct.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workstation to for compliance with Newell Brands' Housekeeping standards.
  • Responsible for submitting labor hours within the Micromain system.
  • Performs diagnostic troubleshooting on electrical, HVAC, chillers, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC's brazing furnaces, exothermic generators and mechanical equipment.  Make necessary repairs on those systems, machine tools, ancillary equipment and conveyors.
  • Rewire or run new power lines
  • Welding
  • Tear Down and overhaul equipment components such as, but not limited to pumps, valves, regulators, and motors.
  • Must have Stamping Press experience and/or Spindle Lathe experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Blow Mold, Injection Mold, Vacuum forming, Foam, and Sheet Extrusion to analyze and perform repair on equipment.
  • Completes required reports and other documentation on assigned work and/or inspections
  • Observes all safety rules
  • Keep work station in order
  • Supports team objectives
  • Must have the ability to work with RS Logic Programming with strong Microsoft Excel training
  • Auto-CAD training is preferred
  • Train specific skill sets to other employees and track OJT
  • Ability to fabricate parts on mill or lathe
  • Run projects - including listing objectives, creating parts lists, guiding the team members and providing all documentation
  • Must have a strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical components and how they work in conjunction with electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Must be flexible in working different shifts and be able to work a weekend schedule
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, engineers and co-workers.

 

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.  Must have a strong mechanical aptitude and ability to pass test.

  • Electrical License preferred
  • Welding Certificate preferred.
  • Ability to get a forklift license
  • HVAC Certificate preferred
