Quality Control Inspector Job Description
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for in-process and final product quality analyses/inspection, in compliance with standards and regulatory requirements.
Quality Control Inspector who will be responsible for in-process and final product quality analyses/inspection, in compliance with standards and regulatory requirements. This position will interact on a regular basis with: Research faculty, technicians, and support staff. This position typically will advise and counsel: Unit leadership, research faculty, technicians, and students.
Requirements
Quality Control Inspector Responsibilities
  • Inspect the fabrication and production of prototype parts to ensure they have been made to customer specifications; inspection may be mechanical, digital, optical, by coordinate measuring machine, or by any other means necessary.
  • Using various measuring devices, testing equipment, and prescribed specifications, perform appropriate tests needed to verify fabrication has been performed as specified.
  • Develop and document quality assurance guidelines, checklists, and defect reports for anomalies detected during testing process and refer as appropriate for correction.
  • Identify ongoing quality issues and make suggestions for improvement.
  • Maintain and calibrate metrology equipment.
  • Maintain Chromium conversion and anodization tank calibration.
  • Coordinate, track, and facilitate outside processing work such as painting, sandblasting, anodizing, etc.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
