Where is the work:

Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.

Reporting to the Regional Vice President & General Manager, Trane is looking for a dynamic Area General Manager to join the Upper Midwest leadership team. Committed to delivering business results and continually fostering employee engagement, the role will be based in the Arden Hills, Twin Cities Commercial Sales Office. Managing the P&L for Minnesota and Western Wisconsin, you will be responsible for the systems, sales and services streams providing leadership for Operations through a matrix organizational structure.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the annual and long-term development and delivery of financial results for the Sales Office. Responsible for achieving annual objectives regarding profit, volume, margins, business mix, and share for all business streams.
  • Leadership for the following functions: customer and district sales management, new customer acquisition, customer satisfaction measurement, price management, marketing, maximizing account penetration, market penetration, customer retention, hiring and on-boarding of new sales associates, continual assessment of skills and administering necessary training, setting quotas, accurate sales forecasting and consistent use of Trane sales tools and systems.
  • Improve the customer experience and ensure overall customer satisfaction with timely resolution of issues.
  • Assemble account teams and interact with Account Managers with differing business development requirements, customer focus, experience, sales cycles, and product portfolios.
  • Responsible for sales office compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational integrity.
  • Champion human capital strategies such as employee engagement, recruitment and retention, leadership development and diversity and inclusion.
  • Advance a culture of excellence by utilizing lean principles and leveraging best practices effectively and efficiently to meet goals

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, business or equivalent from a four-year college or university preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of HVAC industry or related experience is a plus. Understanding of Energy Management Systems, or HVAC Systems and/or Temperature Controls, and/or Process Control Management is a plus.
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive sales managerial experience.
  • Experience leading a high performing team, with a track record of personal achievement and advancement.
  • Ability to create and execute on a vision and strategy for the local market business needs.
  • Knowledge of lean processes, a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to coach others in process improvement.
  • Strong data management and data analysis competency
  • Travel: The ability to travel across the region. Some overnight travel required (estimated at 25%)

$185,100.00 - $280,665.00
