Location: Columbus, Ohio


Job Type: W2 Contract


Expected hours per week: 40 hours


Schedule: Hybrid


Pay Range: $48-53 an hour


Job Description:
The Business Analyst 3 is a senior-level role responsible for leading business analysis efforts supporting the modernization and full rewrite of enterprise .NET applications. This position serves as the key liaison between business stakeholders and software development teams, ensuring requirements, processes, and modernization objectives are clearly defined, documented, and successfully delivered. The ideal candidate brings strong requirements management experience, application modernization expertise, and a solid understanding of modern technologies such as Azure, APIs, .NET Core, and DevOps practices.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the elicitation, analysis, documentation, and validation of business, functional, and non-functional requirements.

  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions with business teams, SMEs, technical staff, and stakeholders.

  • Create user stories, acceptance criteria, business requirements, and detailed process documentation.

  • Document current-state business processes, workflows, system dependencies, and application integrations.

  • Design future-state workflows and business processes aligned with application modernization initiatives.

  • Develop process maps, workflow diagrams, decision trees, and other visual documentation using Visio and related tools.

  • Support legacy system migration and modernization projects by documenting business rules, data models, and transformation requirements.

  • Define non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, security, usability, and quality-of-service expectations.

  • Create report specifications detailing report purpose, data attributes, ownership, and runtime parameters.

  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure requirements traceability throughout the software development lifecycle.

  • Support QA testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect triage, and validation of system fixes.

  • Verify delivered solutions align with documented requirements and business objectives.

  • Analyze application architecture, integration points, and modernization strategies involving Azure Functions, APIs, SQL Server, and .NET Core.

  • Communicate project status, risks, issues, and key decisions to project managers and leadership teams.

  • Work across business, development, operations, and security teams to ensure successful project execution.

  • Utilize tools such as Azure DevOps, Clarity PPM, SharePoint, and other project portfolio management platforms to support project delivery.
