Expected hours per week: 40 hours per week
Schedule: Onsite, 8am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday
Pay Range: $75.00 - $85.00 per hour

Job Description:
Position Summary
The Senior IT Consultant - Splunk Engineer will lead the design, implementation, administration, and optimization of enterprise Splunk environments. This role is responsible for developing advanced monitoring and analytics solutions, supporting observability and security initiatives, and partnering with cross-functional IT teams to improve system visibility and reliability. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Splunk architecture, data onboarding, dashboard development, and enterprise-scale monitoring solutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, configure, and maintain enterprise Splunk infrastructure, including indexers, search heads, deployment servers, and forwarders.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, alerts, and visualizations to support operational, infrastructure, and security monitoring.
  • Onboard, parse, normalize, and manage data from applications, servers, cloud platforms, databases, and network devices.
  • Create and optimize complex SPL queries and searches to support monitoring, troubleshooting, and analytics.
  • Monitor platform health, performance, and scalability while ensuring high availability and system reliability.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts related to data ingestion, indexing, search performance, and infrastructure integration.
  • Collaborate with security, development, cloud, and infrastructure teams to implement enterprise monitoring and observability solutions.
  • Support platform upgrades, migrations, architecture improvements, and automation initiatives.
  • Establish best practices for governance, data retention, security, and access controls.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior engineers and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of overall IT experience in infrastructure, systems administration, monitoring, security, or enterprise application support.
  • 5+ years of hands-on Splunk engineering and administration experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong expertise in Splunk Enterprise architecture, deployment, administration, and performance tuning.
  • Advanced knowledge of Splunk SPL and dashboard/report development.
  • Experience integrating and analyzing data from Windows, Linux, cloud platforms, databases, applications, and network devices.
  • Experience with scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Splunk Certified Power User, Administrator, Architect, or Consultant certifications.
  • Experience with Splunk Enterprise Security (ES), ITSI, SOAR, or Observability Cloud.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity operations, SIEM platforms, and incident response programs.
  • Knowledge of enterprise monitoring and observability frameworks.

Top Requirements
  • 10+ years of IT infrastructure, systems, monitoring, or security experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on Splunk engineering experience.
  • Advanced SPL query development and dashboard creation.
  • Experience onboarding and optimizing enterprise log and monitoring data sources.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
