Job description

The Solutions Architect is a technology strategist for the IT Customer domain (Retail, Wholesale/B2B, and CRM). The Solutions Architect is capable of translating business vision into a technology roadmap and works as a team member along with the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Business Analysts, Project Managers, Application Architects and Senior Developers to design and implement architectural enhancements. They will assist in application installations on pilot and production environment. Setup and maintain lab with Development and Testing environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a solution strategy and business plan that supports growth, stability, and security.
  • Defines the essential core design features of a project and ensures that the necessary documentation is provided.
  • Responsible for Systems and Application Architecture/Design, Data Architecture, Research, Software Evaluation, Coordination with Vendors and external application providers, Development and Code Reviews, Support and Troubleshooting.
  • Actively participate in all aspects of project life cycle, from initial kickoff through requirements analysis, design and implementation phases. Helps identify Non-Functional Requirements (Performance, Security, Testability, Extensibility, Scalability, Maintainability, Deployability, Accessibility, etc.)
  • Provide thought leadership in innovation, developing standards, architectural governance, and architectural best practices. Work with other architects to develop a comprehensive view of all aspects of the firm's Enterprise Architecture.
  • Stays abreast to emerging technologies, trends, and techniques in the Retail IT industry particularly as it relates to security/compliance.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • 10+ years' experience in design and development using Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Project Management Methodologies.
  • 5+ years' experience in retail implementations, delivery, and solving business problems with software and technology.
  • Experience in uncovering requirements, conceptualizing solutions, and developing a framework for implementation of systems.
  • Functional and technical knowledge of Oracle Retail systems such as Oracle Retail POS (ORPOS), Oracle Xstore, Oracle Retail Customer Engagement Cloud Service (Relate), or Oracle Retail Order Broker Cloud Service (Locate).
  • Knowledge of at least one CRM Product. CRM implementation experience is a plus.
  • Experience with PCI security standards is a plus.
  • Development experience using both Java/J2EE and .NET
  • Mobile Applications with Oracle database or SQL Server is a plus.
