Job description

JOB SUMMARY
The Senior/Lead QA Automation Engineer will support a large-scale enterprise application integration initiative. This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on owning Quality Assurance within an embedded Agile delivery team while coordinating testing efforts across a broader project landscape. The ideal candidate brings strong automation engineering expertise, software development fundamentals, and experience building scalable test automation frameworks. While Playwright and TypeScript are the target technologies, candidates with strong automation experience in Selenium, Java, C#, Python, or similar technologies who can quickly transition to the new stack are highly encouraged to apply.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Own Quality Assurance activities within an embedded Agile delivery team.
• Collaborate closely with developers, Product Owners, business stakeholders, and fellow QA engineers to understand requirements and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain automated testing frameworks and solutions.
• Write, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright, TypeScript, Selenium, or similar automation technologies.
• Coordinate testing efforts with multiple QA engineers supporting the broader project initiative.
• Validate application functionality, integrations, and end-to-end business workflows.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, requirements reviews, and delivery discussions.
• Identify, document, track, and manage software defects through resolution.
• Manage testing activities and defect tracking using Jira, Zephyr, or similar tools.
• Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows.
• Establish and promote QA automation standards, best practices, and testing strategies.
• Communicate testing progress, quality metrics, risks, and issues to project stakeholders.
• Leverage AI-assisted development and testing tools to improve efficiency and productivity where appropriate.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across testing and automation practices.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Software Testing, or Information Technology.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining test automation frameworks.
• Strong experience with automation technologies such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent tools.
• Demonstrated proficiency in programming and scripting languages including Java, TypeScript, JavaScript, C#, Python, or similar languages.
• Proven ability to design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions rather than solely executing existing test cases.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, and Agile delivery practices.
• Experience owning QA activities within an Agile delivery team.
• Experience collaborating effectively with developers, Product Owners, business analysts, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to take initiative, drive accountability, and proactively manage testing deliverables.
• Ability to work onsite five days per week.
• Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and automation frameworks.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript.
• Strong background in Java and Selenium-based automation frameworks.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience using GitHub for source control and collaboration.
• Experience with Jira, Zephyr, or similar Agile project management and test management tools.
• Experience implementing automation within CI/CD environments using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
• Experience working with containerized environments and Kubernetes.
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise application integration initiatives.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted software development and testing tools, including GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Rovo, or similar platforms.
CERTIFICATIONS
• ISTQB Certified Tester certification preferred.
• Certified Agile Tester, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or equivalent Agile certification preferred.
• Microsoft Azure, AWS Cloud, or related technical certifications are a plus.
PROJECT ENVIRONMENT
• Support a strategic enterprise-wide application integration initiative involving multiple customer-facing platforms and services.
• Work within a complex ecosystem that includes customer portals, authentication systems, business applications, diagnostics tools, dashboards, and other digital solutions.
• Focus on ensuring quality, reliability, and seamless integration as multiple systems are consolidated into a unified user experience.
• Serve as the QA lead within an embedded delivery team while coordinating with additional QA resources supporting the broader program.
