Our client is currently seeking a qualified Project Manager to join their team onsite in Ottawa, ON.
The Canadian Government requires the selectee to be a Canadian Citizen for the last 10 years. The Canadian Government requires the selectee to be willing to complete and obtain a Canadian Top Secret security clearance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop a PMO charter, PMO support structures and implementation plan
  • Define and document project management artefacts such as project charters, project management plans, stakeholder engagement plans, etc
  • Design, implement and monitor operations of the project office against established goals, objectives and milestones as defined in the PMO charter and implementation plan
  • Coach, mentor and direct PMO staff in project management processes (as defined by the Project Management Institute), good practices, methodologies, tools, and requirements as defined within the departmental IMP
  • Develop a results-based management framework with identified Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the PMO, projects and programs and its supporting processes
  • Contribute to the organization's strategic and business planning initiatives, including the directorate’s operational plan, if necessary
  • Develop and document control and reporting procedures and the change control process for all projects (as applicable);
  • Develop and document the risk and issue management processes to be used by the project
  • Identify, treat, and manage risks and issues
  • Establish quality control processes by which the project will be managed and must adhere to
  • Monitor all aspects of the project
  • Transfer functional and technical knowledge to the departmental project teams through individual and group training, demonstrations, written instructions and documents on an ongoing basis throughout the life of the project
  • Maintain all project artifacts as per established document management requirements
 
Skills and Qualifications:
  • University undergraduate degree or diploma in Project Management, Commerce, Computer Sciences, Engineering, Information Management, Information Technology, or an MBA or Ten (10) years of progressive experience in IT
  • Must hold a valid certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a Senior Project Manager or Project Executive
  • A minimum of ten years’ experience developing documents and processes such as:
    • Developing artefacts such as Project Charters, Project Management Plans, Project Schedules
    • Developing Project Dashboards
    • Developing Project Charters
    • Developing Project Dashboards
    • Developing Project Management Plans
    • Developing a risk plan, risk register and risk mitigation strategies
    • Conducting Project Briefings to Senior Management
  • A minimum of ten years’ experience providing advice to senior management on implementing projects
  • A minimum of ten years’ experience managing and leading the risk management function for an IM/IT project including:
    • Developing a risk plan, risk register and risk mitigation strategies
    • Owning and managing the risk management process to ensure projects risks are identified, quantified, and effectively managed
    • Managing project risk with the authority to deal with risks within guidelines
    • Liaising with other projects in the integrated development of risks
  • A minimum of ten years’ experience in establishing a stakeholder management plan and communications plan for organization change throughout the project lifecycle
  • A minimum of ten years’ experience developing change management tools and materials and delivering coaching and training to stakeholders

Responsabilités:
  • Développer une charte de Bureau de gestion de projets (PMO), les structures de soutien du PMO et un plan de mise en œuvre.
  • Définir et documenter les artéfacts de gestion de projet, tels que les chartes de projet, les plans de gestion de projet, les plans de mobilisation des parties prenantes, etc.
  • Concevoir, mettre en œuvre et surveiller les activités du bureau de gestion de projets en fonction des objectifs, résultats attendus et jalons définis dans la charte du PMO et le plan de mise en œuvre.
  • Encadrer, conseiller et diriger le personnel du PMO relativement aux processus de gestion de projet (selon les normes du Project Management Institute), aux bonnes pratiques, aux méthodologies, aux outils et aux exigences définies dans le plan de gestion intégré (IMP) du ministère.

Échelle salariale:
Le taux pour ce poste se situe entre 80.00$ et 100.00$ l'heure, à moins que le salaire minimum local ne soit plus élevé.
