Job description

REAL ESTATE AGENT — TEAM OPPORTUNITY

Michael Cautillo Real Estate

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties | Beverly Hills

ABOUT THE PRACTICE

Michael Cautillo Real Estate is a relationship-driven residential real estate practice affiliated with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties in Beverly Hills. The practice represents buyers, sellers, investors, and referral clients throughout Southern California, with particular experience in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, greater Los Angeles, Palm Springs, and surrounding markets.

Michael Cautillo brings a distinctive combination of real estate, legal, sales, marketing, and luxury-client experience to his practice. He holds a J.D. from USC Gould School of Law and a B.S. in Psychology from Columbia University. Before entering real estate, Michael spent more than 20 years in senior leadership roles with Barneys New York, developing extensive experience in luxury sales, client development, branding, team leadership, and highly personalized service.

That background shapes the practice today: sophisticated representation, thoughtful marketing, strong negotiation, meticulous follow-through, and enduring client relationships.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Michael Cautillo Real Estate is seeking one or two licensed California real estate agents to help build a growing team at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties in Beverly Hills.

This opportunity is designed for an agent who wants more than a brokerage affiliation and a desk. The selected agent will work directly with Michael and receive hands-on mentorship, transaction guidance, business-development coaching, and structured access to a proprietary database of approximately 36,000 contacts and prospective clients.

The agent will help cultivate relationships within the database, identify real estate opportunities, schedule appointments, and convert qualified prospects into active buyers, sellers, investors, and referral clients. These contacts are a valuable foundation for developing business, but they are not prequalified leads. Success will require consistent outreach, intelligent follow-up, professional communication, and the patience to build genuine relationships.

The ideal candidate is ambitious but coachable, entrepreneurial but collaborative, and prepared to do the disciplined daily work required to build a sustainable real estate practice.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct consistent outreach to contacts and prospective clients within the team’s database
  • Follow up through telephone calls, text messages, email, CRM campaigns, and personal correspondence
  • Qualify prospective buyers and sellers and schedule appointments
  • Develop and maintain an organized pipeline of active prospects and long-term relationships
  • Represent buyers and sellers in residential real estate transactions
  • Conduct buyer consultations, listing presentations, property showings, and open houses
  • Prepare and present offers, counteroffers, and other transaction documents
  • Coordinate with lenders, escrow officers, inspectors, title representatives, and other transaction professionals
  • Maintain accurate CRM notes, follow-up schedules, and transaction records
  • Assist with team listings, marketing initiatives, open houses, and client events
  • Generate referral business through networking, community involvement, and relationship development
  • Provide responsive, polished, and highly personalized client service
  • Safeguard the confidentiality and integrity of the team’s database and client information
  • Represent Michael Cautillo Real Estate and Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment

  • MENTORSHIP AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The selected agent will receive direct guidance in:

    • Prospecting and database cultivation
    • Luxury sales and relationship-based client development
    • Buyer and seller consultations
    • Listing presentations and property positioning
    • Negotiation strategy
    • Transaction management and problem-solving
    • Personal branding and real estate marketing
    • Client retention and referral development
    • Professional communication and presentation
    • Building a sustainable individual real estate business

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Active California real estate salesperson or broker license
    • Willingness and eligibility to affiliate with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties in Beverly Hills
    • Genuine interest in developing a long-term real estate career and helping build a team
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Professional presentation, discretion, judgment, and follow-through
    • A polished, consultative approach to sales and client service
    • Comfort initiating outbound calls and conversations with prospective clients
    • Willingness to be coached, remain accountable, and work consistently without close supervision
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills
    • Familiarity with CRM systems, digital marketing, social media, and online real estate platforms
    • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout greater Los Angeles
    • Availability for client appointments, showings, and open houses, including occasional evenings and weekends
    • Prior real estate, luxury sales, client-development, or related experience is preferred

  • COMPENSATION AND TEAM STRUCTURE

This is an independent-contractor, commission-based real estate opportunity. A written commission-split and referral structure will be established based on the source of each client, the responsibilities assumed by each party, and the level of mentoring, marketing, and transaction support provided.

    Different arrangements may apply to:

    • Business developed from the Michael Cautillo Real Estate database
    • Team-generated opportunities, listings, marketing, or open houses
    • Clients and referrals personally generated by the agent
    • Transactions requiring substantial direct involvement or supervision from Michael.

All compensation, client assignments, database access, and transaction responsibilities will be documented and remain subject to applicable California law and Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties policies.

    WORK STRUCTURE

This is a hybrid opportunity based from the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties office in Beverly Hills. Prospecting, administrative work, and follow-up may be performed remotely, while training, team meetings, client appointments, showings, open houses, and other client-facing responsibilities will generally take place in person.

    TO APPLY

Please submit a résumé and a brief introduction addressing:

    • Your current real estate experience and brokerage affiliation
    • Why you are interested in joining and helping build a team
    • Your experience in prospecting, sales, or client relationship development
    • The Southern California markets in which you currently work
    • The time you can consistently devote to database outreach and business development
    • What you hope to accomplish professionally during the next two years

  • This is an opportunity to build a business with meaningful resources, experienced mentorship, and the strength of a globally recognized brokerage brand. In return, the selected agent must bring initiative, consistency, integrity, and a serious commitment to exceptional client service.
