This role will also contain some Project Management & Product Development responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and troubleshoot power electronic systems and components, including converters, inverters, PCBAs, power controllers and power supplies.
- Provide client support and production support from an engineering standpoint for the HDR line of products including power controllers and plasma power sources.
- Lead research initiatives to enhance existing technologies and explore innovative solutions.
- Conduct testing to resolve technical issues related to PCBAs and power electronics during various stages of product development and deployment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as purchasing, QA, and manufacturing.
- Create and review technical documentation, including specifications, design documents, and test plans.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Electronics.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience within the electrical or electronics industry.
- A solid understanding of inverters, transformers, and PCBA components.
- Proven experience in designing and developing PCBA and/or power electronic systems and components.
- Knowledge of power semiconductor devices, such as IGBTs, SCR's, capacitors, and diodes, and their application in various power conversion topologies.
- Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with hardware design and circuit prototyping.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- A strong desire to learn and contribute to innovative electrical solutions.
- Must possess strong communication, interpersonal, and organization skills, the ability to work closely with other team members to meet objectives and deadlines.
Desired Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of the electrical and/or power electronics industry.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations (NEC, UL).
- Knowledge of electrical applications for high and low voltage electrical systems.
- Familiarity with EMI mitigation techniques in circuit design.
