Job description

Job Title: Coordinator, Youth Programming

Job Status: Full-time

Job Summary: Under general supervision, the Youth Programming Coordinator develops and leads educational and recreational programs for youth. They drive ACCESS’s national youth engagement strategy, especially for CAAP, by creating and managing content to involve participants. The role supports positive youth development in a safe, inclusive setting and collaborates with community partners to ensure programming aligns with the organization’s mission and youth needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with CAAP and ACCESS leadership to formulate strategies for engaging youth in CAAP programs and strengthening their ongoing connection with the organization
  • Oversee youth development programs, such as CAAP’s Teen Grantmaking Initiative, encourage alumni participation, and explore opportunities to expand TGI nationwide to include more chapters
  • Coordinate CAAP's extensive scholarship programs by developing engagement strategies for recipients and alumni, maintaining regular communication with scholarship review committees, leading review sessions, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of all presented materials.
  • Collaborate with ACCESS teams and its national institutions to design and implement engagement and mentorship strategies for youth participants and alumni.
  • Work with other youth program staff at ACCESS to coordinate youth engagement strategies and programming at major CAAP and ACCESS events and convenings
  • Plan, execute and lead events and relevant programming for participants and alumni from CAAP youth programming
  • Design engaging, safe activities for youth that encourage well-being and social interaction, and ensure legal compliance to reduce liability, and collect all necessary legal releases from participants, parents and guardians
  • Connect CAAP youth program participants and alumni to professional and leadership development opportunities—such as conferences, training, workshops, internships, and jobs—through community partnerships
  • Represent CAAP and ACCESS at relevant external events and conferences as assigned
  • Develop comprehensive reports or presentations for leadership, board members, or stakeholders regarding assigned youth programming initiatives
  • Support the planning and execution of other national programming and events
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Intermediate concepts, principles and practices of social work, youth organizing, philanthropy, fundraising, and program development
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Skill in:

  • Volunteer management
  • Grantmaking initiative protocols and procedures
  • Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications for program area and other applications, including Microsoft Office

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum Degree Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Required Disciplines:
    • Social Work, Psychology, Education, Sociology, or related field

  • At least 4-5 years of experience in youth program planning and related community organizing and civic engagement, philanthropy, and cultural events. Any equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training approved by Human Resources

Hours: Normal business hours, some additional hours may be required

Travel Required: Local, in-state, and national travel up to 20%
