The BNSF Railwayย Finance Department provides innovative strategic solutions and world-class financial services to support BNSF's overall performance. Within the Finance Department, several specialized departments contribute to its overall mission: Controller, Revenue Management, Strategic Sourcing, Tax, Treasury, and Strategic Studies. Each department is vital in managing BNSF's financial health and strategic financial planning. These departments work collaboratively to secure BNSF's economic stability and support its growth and innovation within the railway industry.

This is a full-timeย positionย located in Fort Worth, TX. ย ย For certain positions, including this one, employees can work one day per week remotely.ย  Our leaders also foster a culture where work life balance, which requires flexibility for when life happens, is important and respected.

Travelย isย required as needed but expected 5% of the time or less.

Salary Range

  • 2+ years of experience: $81,500 - $108,000
  • 3+ years of experience: $92,000 - $122,000

These ranges reflect what BNSF Railway reasonably expects to pay for this position, based on the level of the role, scope, and responsibilities. Final compensation and position level will be determined by factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to base pay and bonus eligibility, BNSF offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Key responsibilities may include:ย 

This position is part of a team responsible for the strategic sourcing and procurement activities supporting BNSF's Intermodal and Automotive business units.ย 

Key focus areas include supplier development, contract and purchase order negotiations, supplier and stakeholder relationship management, supplier performance management, catalog management, and total cost of ownership optimization.ย 

Set strategic vision and partner with the Intermodal and Automotive teams on future projects and commercial agreements, and manage existing commercial agreements.

Lead cross-functional teams in identification and execution of Strategic Sourcing requirements, strategies, and process improvements, as well as support of internal stakeholders.ย 

Ability to understand stakeholder requirements and translate those into impactful Service Level Agreements in service contracts will be very important to success in this role.

Need to be comfortable simultaneously progressing multiple projects towards completion in support of various stakeholders.

Interface closely with internal stakeholders in Intermodal, Automotive, Sourcing, Finance, Law, and Technology Services, as well as external suppliers and service providers.

Candidate must have strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, and must be an effective communicator with both internal and external contacts.ย  Excellent business partnership and relationship skills required.

Daily workย is conducted in an indoor office environment.

Basic Qualifications:ย

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • At least a minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement, finance, or related field.
