Job Summary
Responsible for the efficient and effective oversight of Hospital and Professional Billing and Follow-Up activities. Monitors overall accounts receivable, clean claims, denial resolution, and payment trends to report on performance and implement best practice solutions. In partnership with key stakeholders, the Director, HB/PB Billing & Follow-Up, operationalizes the strategic direction for Patient Financial Services and continuously works to improve staff, processes, and technology approaches across the functions.

Qualifications
Essential Functions:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff, including training, supervision, and performance management.
  • Develops and implements efficient and effective operational policies, processes, and best practices.
  • Manages day-to-day operations of Hospital and Professional Billing and Follow-up teams, including identifying and monitoring team success metrics and activities related to PFS functions.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and follows up on payer issues and denial trends, interacting with MGB entities and practices, payer representatives, and others to ensure accurate and timely billing, appeals, and claims processing.
  • Oversees continual improvement efforts to maximize revenue capture while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Identify operational impacts of and oversee the adoption of rapidly changing technology and regulatory aspects of health care and health care billing to ensure compliant operations.
  • Implement the strategic direction for Hospital Billing and Follow-up and Payment Posting teams, and collaborate with direct reports, functional leaders, and on/offshore resources to drive alignment.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree Finance preferred or Bachelor's Degree Business Administration preferred or Bachelor's Degree Healthcare Administration preferred or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study preferred

Hospital patient accounts, hospital finance or related revenue cycle operations 3-5 years required and Management experience in Hospital patient accounts, hospital finance or related revenue cycle operations 3-5 years required and EPIC revenue cycle application experience 3-5 years required
