Finance Manager

JOB SUMMARY

Zermatt Resort & Spa is seeking an experienced, analytical, and results-driven Finance Manager to oversee the resort's financial operations and provide strategic financial guidance to leadership. Reporting to the General Manager and supervising one Accounting Coordinator, this position is responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, internal controls, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate possesses strong accounting knowledge but excels at analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and providing recommendations that improve profitability and operational performance.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and management reports.
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to improve profitability.
  • Monitor labor, operating expenses, and departmental financial results.
  • Ensure timely month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain internal controls and accounting accuracy.
  • Supervise and support the Accounting Coordinator.
  • Assist with audits, tax reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with department leaders to support financial planning and decision-making.
  • Prepare financial presentations and KPI reporting for resort leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience; hospitality experience preferred.
  • Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with accounting software.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and present recommendations to leadership.
  • Leadership experience supervising accounting staff preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Reliable attendance and flexibility to work additional hours during month-end, year-end, or audit periods.
