Job description

Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer I to join our Marine team in Kennesaw, GA. In this role, you will be responsible for propeller development and project management. Key responsibilities include assisting with propeller product design and coordinating resource allocation across multiple sites for propeller development
What you'll be doing:
  • Identify deficiencies in mechanical processes and developing improvements.
  • Design, development, and evaluation of propeller prototypes.
  • Mechanical design using 3D CAD, FEA analysis and fluid dynamics.
  • Coordination of project schedules and resource allocation across multiple development sites in the United States.
  • Preparing documentation of product development history and critical analysis results. Automate documentation where possible

What you need to be successful:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Proficient with 3D Modeling and 2D Drawings in Solidworks, NX or other 3D tools.
  • Knowledge of marine industry product requirements, propeller performance characteristics, fluid dynamics, and structural mechanics.
  • Coursework and/or project work using FEA is preferred.
  • Strong interest in developing project management and leadership skills.
