Job description

Information Assurance / Cybersecurity Practitioner III – CBRN Information Systems
Xcelerate Solutions is seeking a mid-level Information Assurance / Cybersecurity practitioner who will support Joint Program Executive Office for CBRN Defense (JPEO-CBRND) with cross-portfolio CBRN information system cybersecurity integration and enablement. In this role, you will evaluate existing programs and system characteristics to ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards, support the identification of critical technologies, and manage / install / configure / maintain enterprise security software in support of ongoing enterprise operations.

Responsibilities: 
  • Examine JPEO programs and system characteristics to determine whether compliance with DoDI 8500.01 is recommended or required and develop an Acquisition Cybersecurity Strategy when required.
  • Ensure that each JPEO program has a cybersecurity strategy consistent with DoD policies, standards, and architectures
  • Assist in the identification of Critical Program Information and Critical Technology in terms of their importance to the program being developed
  • Assist in the identification of foreign collection threats to the program, identify elements that required classification, and determine the phases at which such classification should occur and the duration of such controls.
  • Provide support for Development Test, User Demonstration, User Feedback, Operational Assessment, and Operational Test events and address each CPI and other relevant information requiring protection, including export controlled information and SBU / CUI information
  • Manage the Host-Bases Security System (HBSS) and install, configure, and maintain computer and network security software, including instances of Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), DISA STIG Viewer, and other cybersecurity software test and scanning applications
  • Document program’s overall cybersecurity approach and requirements, including determining the appropriate certification and accreditation process, contributing content for Life Cycle Management Plans (LCMP), assisting programs in the creation of Security Classification Guides, and assisting in the development of Program Protection Plans Appendix E – Cybersecurity Strategy
  • Leverage IEW services while working in conjunction with JPMs/JPLs across the JPEO to facilitate RMF activities
  • Guide JPEO programs in the development of Acquisition Cybesecurity Strategy
  • CONUS travel up to 20% and OCONUS travel up to 10%
  • Must take, or have already completed the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (SC2) Certified Authorization Professional (CAP) Certification prep self study
Minimum Requirements: 
  • Required: Sec+ certification
  • Required: 3+ years’ experience providing IT support services, including information assurance
  • Required: RMF training, including experience with eMASS tool
