Position: Residential Counselor
Location: Somerville, MA, Cambridge, MA, Arlington, MA, Wilmington, MA
Salary: $20.60 - $21.63 per hour

Schedule: Full-time, Part-time, Day Shift, Evenings, Weekends-only, Overnights

Walnut Street Center is a not-for-profit human service agency that empowers adults with Intellectual Disabilities to live engaged and meaningful lives. WSC provides this by offering quality, outcome-based services which meet evolving stakeholder's needs and bring together caring, engaged, and informed family members, friends, community partners, and employees to support these individuals.

WSC is actively seeking Residential Counselors to help empower adults with intellectual disabilities to make more meaningful life choices by working directly with those individuals in one of our many programs.

This role is interesting because you will:

  • Ensure community engagement
  • Assist with ensuring a livable environment
  • Participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of each individual's goals
  • Provide therapeutic support and assist in Behavior Support Plans, if appropriate
  • Transport individuals
  • Medication Administration
  • Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living such as feeding, dressing, toileting, and other aspects of personal care, and nutritional needs

You are qualified if you have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive
  • Ability to pass a driving and background check
  • COVID-19 Vaccine Card
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to complete training both online and in-person
  • Previous human services or long-term care experience is strongly preferred
  • CNA/HHA experience preferred
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
