A World Triathlon athlete is a competitor who participates in triathlon events organized or sanctioned by World Triathlon, the international governing body for the sport. These athletes compete in races that include swimming, cycling, and running segments. World Triathlon oversees a range of competitions, from elite world championships to age-group and paratriathlon events. Athletes may represent their countries, clubs, or themselves, and they must adhere to the rules and standards set by World Triathlon for fair and safe competition.

Excellent communication, motivational skills, and adaptability help coaches build trust and tailor programs to individual athletes.
