Weekly Hours: 35 Hoursย

Center for Family Life in Sunset Park's mission is to promote positive outcomes for children and adults in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, by providing a comprehensive range of neighborhood-based family and social services.ย 


PURPOSE OF THE POSITIONย 


The SYEP Site Monitor/Clerk plays a critical role in supporting the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) by conducting worksite visits, ensuring that youth participants are safe, appropriately placed, and engaged in meaningful work experiences. The Site Monitor maintains strong communication with worksites, youth participants, and program leadership to ensure that all SYEP guidelines and expectations are met.ย 


I. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESย 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:ย 

  • Conduct regular site visits to SYEP worksites to monitor youth attendance, engagement, and safety.ย 
  • Ensure worksites are aligned with SYEP policies, labor laws, and program expectations.ย 
  • Communicate consistently with Worksite Coordinators, supervisors, and youth participants to address concerns or challenges.ย 
  • Document all site visits, participant check-ins, and observations using required forms.ย 
  • Support conflict resolution between youth participants and supervisors when needed.ย 
  • Provide feedback to the Program Director and Worksite Coordinator regarding worksite performance and participant needs.ย 
  • Participate in staff meetings, orientations, and trainings related to SYEP operations.ย 
  • Assist with special events, workshops, or program-wide activities as assigned.ย 

II. QUALIFICATIONSย 

  • Education/Degree minimum requirement: High School Diploma or currently in college (preferred).ย 
  • Age: 18 years old or older.ย 
  • Strong interest or background in Youth Development or workforce programming.ย 
  • Must enjoy interacting with youth and visiting diverse workplace environments.ย 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.ย 
  • Ability to travel locally to multiple worksites daily.ย 
  • Highly organized, reliable, and able to work independently.ย 
  • Flexibility and the ability to work as part of a team.ย 
  • Comfortable supporting youth participants with a range of needs, including those with special needs or challenging behaviors.ย 
  • Spanish or Mandarin a plus, but not required

III. RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERSย 

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with youth participants, worksite supervisors, coworkers, and program leadership.ย 
  • Demonstrate sensitivity and respect for cultural differences among staff, youth, and worksite partners.ย 
  • Maintain professionalism and uphold a supportive, youth-centered approach at all times.ย 

IV. WORKING CONDITIONSย 

  • Frequent travel between multiple worksites across the community is required.ย 
  • Must be comfortable conducting visits in a wide range of work environments, including offices, outdoor worksites, retail spaces, and community-based organizations.ย 
  • May be required to stand, walk, or be active for extended periods during site visits.ย 
  • Ability to maintain high energy and professionalism in fast-paced conditions.ย 
  • Exposure to various weather conditions when traveling to or visiting outdoor worksites.ย
