Accounting Administrator
The Accounting Administrator plays a key role in supporting the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the Community Foundation. Working closely with the Chief Financial Officer, this position assists with maintaining accurate accounting and investment records, preparing donor and fund reports, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations. The Accounting Administrator also manages the Foundationโ€™s information system (C-Suite), helping to deliver reliable data, clear financial reporting, and excellent service to donors and fund representatives.

Job Classification This is a full-time professional position as defined under the Foundation's personnel policy.
Position Subject to supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the Accounting Administrator responsibilities include:
Accounting Functions
โ€ข Assist with maintenance of accounting records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
โ€ข Assist with administration of accounting policies and procedures as well as the day-to-day accounting and internal control activities of the Foundation;
โ€ข Assist with the processing and maintenance of accounts receivable, accounts payable, grants payable and associated records.
โ€ข Assist with the reconciliation of individual fund accounts and annually provide fund statements grant budget letters to fund representatives and as requested produce fund statements.
โ€ข Assist with the maintenance of the tax-exempt status of the Foundation.
โ€ข Assist with filing property and tax returns and exemptions.
โ€ข Assist with the filing of the form 1099โ€™s.
โ€ข Serve as main resource & project manager for Foundationโ€™s information management system (C-Suite).
Donor Relations
โ€ข Work with the CFO to communicate fund financial information to donors and provide annual reports and communications regarding available grantmaking budgets.
Information Systems
โ€ข Maintain a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, the Foundationโ€™s information management system (C-Suite), and other software needed in Foundationโ€™s operations.
Other Responsibilities
โ€ข Assist with response to surveys and questionnaires concerning the operation of the Foundation.
โ€ข Fulfill other duties as assigned by the CFO and President.

Education, Experience, Background
โ€ข Accounting experience is required. Experience with non-profit fund accounting, and/or with a community foundation is preferred.
โ€ข College degree or equivalent experience, preferably with emphasis on accounting and finance.
โ€ข Experience with computer applications.

โ€ขMust reside in or be willing to relocate to Howard, Clinton, or Carroll Counties.
