Additionally, you'll walk alongside supporting and resourcing staff through important employment touchpoints. As a Workforce Specialist, you'll apply subject-matter HR expertise to ensure engagements, processes, systems, and communication reflect our organizational/team ethos while remaining responsive to our constituents.
You'll partner with Global Workforce Services leadership and other team members to:
- Facilitate functions within the Workforce Relations workgroup.
- Shepherd and steward GWS resources to further Wycliffe USA's strategic priorities, principles and objectives.
- Actively participate in GWS team engagements to optimize team culture, cohesion, performance and outcomes.
Job Description
Overview of Global Workforce Services (GWS)
Global Workforce Services (GWS) supports Wycliffe by attracting, retaining, resourcing and supporting a diverse workforce dedicated to advancing Bible translation. Together, we support the full lifecycle of staff, volunteers, interns and contractors - ensuring they are well-equipped, strategically placed and deeply connected to our mission. Our team cultivates a workplace that reflects biblical values, supports human flourishing and drives operational excellence across personnel and HR functions.
GWS focuses on workforce mobilization and placement, staff experiences and relations, benefits and resources that support staff engagements in the mission. Whether walking alongside staff and leaders, managing essential systems or launching innovative solutions, our shared goal is to foster a thriving, mission-aligned workforce that helps accelerate Bible translation around the world.
Responsibilities
You'll make an impact as you:
- Faithfully and regularly pray for the ongoing work of Bible translation and for people from around the world to experience transformation.
- Act as an organizational representative presenting the global ministry of Wycliffe and encouraging interested individuals, organizations and churches to participate in the work of Bible translation.
- Live out the conviction that "work flows through relationship" by passionately "loving God and loving people" through word and deed. Promote team and organizational culture standards, ensuring high customer service standards.
- Collaborate on departmental initiatives to provide a best-in-class experience for Wycliffe USA future and existing staff. Assist with cross-functional team responsibilities and tactical team/departmental initiatives.
- Represent the GWS team in meetings, projects, workshops and partnership efforts, as assigned.
- Cooperate inter-departmentally to advance the Bible Translation movement and organizational goals. Contribute to team projects and efforts as requested or assigned.
- Work alongside the Senior Director and workgroup members to support staff through the touchpoints of their employment experience (staff relations, reconciliation processes, performance management, and coaching processes) with a high level of whole-person care, professionalism, and efficiency.
- Execute support requests and day-to-day tasks with strict confidentiality and discretion, ensuring timely and efficient completion.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of workforce relations functions through project management, administrative and operational support.
- Assist with performance management, conflict management and reconciliation processes in an effort to build greater trust, unity and harmony amongst employees, supervisors and/or teams.
- Aid in the triaging and processing of support requests received, engaging in verbal, phone, in-person, and electronic communication.
- Supports administration, coordination, updates and application of human resources policies, procedures and practices. Convey employment information, guidelines and laws to staff and ensure compliance as deemed appropriate.
- Act as a liaison between Wycliffe/GWS and staff, ensuring smooth and timely communication and prompt resolution to inquiries or support requests.
- Collaborate on efforts and strategies that improve staff's understanding, adoption and reflection of our values and policies.
- Maintain and submit documentation, correspondence, files, records, and reports on inquiries, developments and resolutions accurately and in accordance with records management protocols.
- Maintain working knowledge of HR best practices, employee handbook, policies and procedures. Conduct ongoing assessments to ensure alignment of efforts with protocols and expectations.
- Hold HR professional licensure and/or certifications to contribute as a subject-matter expert, and provide input and support in implementing HR best practices.
- Facilitate training and orientations, prepare professional presentations and other documents, fostering a positive attitude toward organizational objectives, policies and HR practice and procedures.
