Job Description:
In this role, you will support individuals seeking services at the Ohio Means Jobs Center. This position is an operational, client-facing role that supports workforce development programs. The position focuses on front-line engagement with job seekers, ensuring smooth customer flow, strong communication, and continued participation in services at career centers. This role supports community partnerships and promotes programs aligned with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
Responsibilities:
- Client Engagement amp; Front Desk Operations
- Greet clients and manage reception / activity flow in workforce or career centers
- Schedule appointments and direct inquiries (in-person, phone, virtual channels)
- Maintain a professional, welcoming environment for all visitors
- Conduct follow-ups via phone, email, or text within ~24 hours of initial contact
- Reach out to clients who miss appointments or disengage
- Support ongoing engagement throughout the participant lifecycle
- Manage client records and track engagement in internal databases
- Prepare reports and assist with data collection for performance metrics
- Perform clerical tasks (copying, scanning, assembling materials, etc.)
- Assist Talent Development Specialists with outreach and caseload activities
- Help coordinate workshops, orientations, and community events
- Prepare onboarding materials for new program participants
- Handle inbound calls and voicemail responses within defined timelines
- Route inquiries to appropriate staff
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and workflows
- Manage general office communications and coordination
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1–2 years of administrative, clerical, or customer service experience
- Strong communication skills (in-person, phone, written)
