Job description

Primary Position Objective
The Senior Career Transition Services Specialist supports the OA/CTS Manager and Career Transition Services Specialists in the delivery of graduate placement, transition, and follow-up services in compliance with PRH, DOL, and center policy requirements. This position provides training and guidance to CTS staff, assists in auditing departmental performance, and serves as a primary liaison between graduates, employers, workforce development centers, and community agencies to help ensure successful placement outcomes and continued departmental performance.


Brief Description of Duties

Leadership & Training

  • Lead staff and CTS department training initiatives, serving as a subject matter resource for placement and transition processes

  • Mentor and provide guidance to CTS staff on best practices, case management, and compliance requirements

  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of case files, documentation, and departmental processes to ensure accuracy and compliance

Placement & Reporting Management

  • Prepare comprehensive placement reports and assist the OA/CTS Manager in managing placement outcomes and overall departmental performance

  • Verify, document, and report placements meeting PRH requirements using the automated case management system and ETA-678

  • Produce and distribute placement and follow-up reports to relevant stakeholders

  • Utilize Excel and Google Workspace applications to create and maintain accurate spreadsheets and reports; strong working knowledge of these platforms is required for this role.

Graduate & Employer Relations

  • Serve as the principal point of contact for assigned graduates during transition, placement, and follow-up phases; provide services as needed and document all interactions in the automated case management system

  • Initiate transitional support referrals to off-center placement services, workforce programs, and community agencies as needed

  • Contact employers and one-stop centers to coordinate interviews and activities that promote initial placement

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Maintain ongoing communication with career counselors and career technical training instructors on center

  • Participation in PRH mandated staff training is mandatory. Failure to participate may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.

  • Partner closely with department staff to gather information and sustain open communication with statewide workforce development centers

Compliance & Organizational Standards

  • Follow the CDSS plan and Code of Conduct system daily

  • Work toward and consistently meet performance standard goals

  • Comply with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, the Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), Serrato policies and procedures, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures

  • Maintain good housekeeping standards and comply with all safety practices

  • Adhere to required property control policies and procedures

  • Demonstrate and uphold Serrato Corporation's core values and operating principles

  • Helps students become more employable through continuous reinforcement.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Proficiency with advanced Microsoft Office applications including Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Excel.

Computer Literacy with basic computer functions, email, internet, and basic programs such as Adobe Acrobat.

High level of communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.

High level of ability to motivate, inspire, and counsel students effectively.

Experience

Two years related experience. Experience may include successful Job Corps career transition services experience or successful career transition services experience with other youth development programs.


Education

Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field; or associate's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field, and two years related experience.
