Carlisle Byers Casey, PLLC is seeking a full-time Claim Navigator to join our Spokane team.
Our Claim Navigators help injured people move through complicated legal and administrative processes. This position will manage workers’ compensation claims and civil injury cases during investigation, pre-litigation development, and closing.
Regardless of the type of case or claim, the purpose of the role is the same: keep clients informed, keep cases organized, identify what needs to happen next, and help move each matter toward resolution so our clients can get back to their lives.
The Claim Navigator is an active member of the case team who is expected to take ownership of assigned work, follow through on outstanding items, recognize obstacles, and communicate them to the team before they become emergencies.
What You Will Do
Workers’ Compensation Claims
- Manage an active caseload of Washington workers’ compensation claims.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for injured workers.
- Communicate with claim professionals, medical providers, vocational counselors, employers, and other involved parties.
- Monitor claim activity, deadlines, medical treatment, vocational developments, appointments, and scheduling.
- Draft correspondence and claim-related documents for attorney review.
- Request, organize, and maintain medical, vocational, and claim records.
- Assist attorneys with claim progression, dispute resolution, and litigation preparation.
- Maintain clear documentation of claim activity, outstanding issues, and next steps.
- Promptly bring claim problems, delays, or unfavorable developments to the attorney’s attention.
Civil Injury Cases
- Assist with client onboarding, conflict checks, authorizations, file setup, and deadline tracking.
- Investigate claims and obtain relevant evidence, insurance information, medical records, billing records, and other supporting documentation under the guidance of the attorneys.
- Assist with medical chronologies, billing summaries, and demand packages.
- Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case progress and outstanding needs.
- Help prepare unresolved cases for an organized transition to the litigation team.
- Continue monitoring liens, subrogation interests, case costs, and other financial issues during litigation.
- Assist with settlement documentation, disbursement preparation, and final file closing.
Team and Workflow Responsibilities
- Participate in regular case-round meetings with attorneys.
- Maintain accurate and current information in the firm’s case-management and document-storage systems.
- Follow established procedures while identifying opportunities to improve them.
- Coordinate with attorneys, other Claim Navigators, litigation staff, and administrative staff.
- Take ownership of mistakes, report concerns promptly by asking questions during your case rounds time, we expect and require questions to learn collectively as a team.

Experience in a law office, workers’ compensation, insurance, healthcare, claims administration, social services, or another detail-intensive client-service environment is helpful. Relevant education and transferable experience will also be considered.
Compensation and Schedule
- Starting compensation: $18.50 per hour
- Higher compensation may be available depending on relevant education and experience.
- Full-time schedule.
- Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Thirty-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks.
